 Kintbury Rangers U18s Win
Again Ahead of Cup Final

With it being the Easter school holidays just three games have been played in the past fortnight in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League but all three were important in the quest for honours in the division.

Last Monday the two teams who look to be the favourites for the league title were both in action but with the two sides achieving contrasting results. Kintbury Rangers kept their title challenge on track with a 4-1 win over Wims 11. Despite having a few players missing, for Wims this was their best result in three meetings against Kintbury. Star of the show for Kintbury was James Tomlinson who helped himself to a hat-trick to take his total for the season to 13, with the other goal coming through Josh Luckett with his second goal of the season, Joshua Ibitoye with the reply for Wims. The win for Kintbury saw them move to within a point of leaders Royal Wootton Bassett Town who have completed their fixtures, whilst Kintbury still have five games to go. Kintbury could lift their first silverware of the season this coming Thursday night when they play Calne Town in the final of the League Cup at Melksham Town’s Oakfield Stadium.

Whilst Kintbury were maintaining their push for a second consecutive league title, the same night nearest challengers Bristol Manor Farm were falling to a surprise 2-1 defeat at home against Radstock Town. Both Radstock goals were scored by Aelfric Bidder, the win seeing Radstock move above Kingsdown in the table. That is now four straight defeats for Bristol Manor Farm as their season hits a bad patch not helped by a number of suspensions.

Moving clear into third place in the table were Calne Town following a narrow 1-0 win over bottom of the table Melksham Town, leading scorer Asher Jones with the goal for Calne which sees them go into this weeks cup final against Kintbury on a winning note. With three games to go Calne could still potentially finish in the top two but would need to win all three of their remaining games to do so, two of which are against Bristol Manor Farm. Calne will go into the cup final this week in the knowledge that they have already beaten Kintbury this season, indeed they are the only side to do so this season so far.
