Corsham Print
Wiltshire Senior League
AGM Report
Wednesday 22nd June 2022
The AGM of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League took place on Wednesday 22nd June 2022 in the Towcester Suite, Coleview Community Centre, Towcester Road, Stratton St Margaret, Swindon. The key points to note are as follows:

Senior Level
The night's business saw both Blunsdon and Kintbury Rangers elected into the Premier Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League for Season 2022-23.  Blunsdon return to the Wiltshire Senior League after last season's title triumph in the Swindon & District League Premier Division which saw them finish six points clear of runners-up Nine Elms and gain promotion to the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League under the Feeder League arrangements with the District Leagues. Blunsdon were last in the Wiltshire Senior League back in Season 2013-14.

Also returning to the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League after two seasons away are Kintbury Rangers who finished as runners-up in the Hellenic League Division Two South last season.  Kintbury had dropped down to the Hellenic League Division Two when a number of their players left to join another club and have had a couple of season's regrouping at the lower level. After last season's successful campaign they are now ready to step back up to National League System Feeder League level and will be looking to rekindle the form that saw them crowned champions of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division in Season 2017-18 and Fountain Trophies Cup winners in Season 2018-19. They will also have a side in both the Under 18 Floodlit Division and a development side in the newly formed Division 1 this coming season.

Blunsdon and Kintbury will be joined in a Premier Division of 16 teams by Devizes Town who have been relegated from the Toolstation Western League after they finished bottom of that Step 6 league last season. Season 2022-23 will be the first time that Devizes Town first team will have played in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League since its formation in 1976 and they will no doubt be looking to make an immediate return to Step 6 at the end of the coming season under their new management team. Leaving the Premier Division are Corsham Town Development who have elected not to run a second team this coming season.

As a result of their first team joining the Premier Division, Devizes Town Reserves will leave the Premier Division but will form part of a new Division 1 along with last season's bottom two sides in the Premier Division, Ludgershall Sports and Purton, who will both look to rebuild under new management in Season 2022-23. These three sides will be joined by Chippenham Town Colts, Swindon based Kingsdown Lions, Kintbury Rangers Development, Larkhall Athletic Development and Pewsey Vale Development in a division of eight sides who play each other four times. As previously noted all teams in the new Division must have Senior status facilities. We are currently still in discussions with one or two other sides not in any other league in the county who may yet join our Division 1.

The North Division is set to increase from nine teams to ten although Priory Vale and South Cerney will not be running Veterans' sides next season. They are replaced by new Veterans' sides from Blunsdon and Chisledon with Stratton Juniors also running a second side.

The larger Mid Wiltshire Division, where the majority of sides play on their own grounds, is also set to increase in size with Bemerton Heath Harlequins, Village Elders FC and Westbury United joining the league, whilst Amesbury Junior revert to running just the one side. Currently both Bemerton and Village Elders have been placed in Mid Wiltshire Division but discussions are ongoing with a number of other teams in South Wiltshire with a view to forming a South Division mainly based out of the 3G facility in Old Sarum which would include these teams. Annual Awards
The AGM concluded with three usual awards made at the end of each season, the Referees' Award, the Club Secretary's' Award and the EC Mills Sportsmanship Award.

The Referees' Award was decided by the Hon League Referees' Appointments Secretaries Adie Cripps and Colin Nunn and for Season 2021-22 the winners shield was awarded to Kaz Bedry who has been a loyal servant of the league for many seasons. Congratulations to Kaz on his award and we look forward to seeing him at our games again next season.
