Wiltshire Senior League
AGM & Latest Draft Constitution
for Season 2025-26

The AGM of of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League is set to take place tonight Wednesday 18th June 2025 at the Towcester Suite, Coleview Community Centre, Towcester Road, Stratton St Margaret, Swindon SN3 4AS and will commence at 7:30pm.

In accordance with League Rule 8, each Member Club must attend and shall be empowered to have two delegates in attendance. Any continuing Member Club, failing to be represented at this meeting, shall be fined in accordance with League rules, so all are encouraged to attend.

Included in the agenda will be the election of clubs to the League to fill vacancies and also agreement of the proposed Constitution of the League for Season 2025/26. The proposed constitution that is being put to the clubs for approval for the two Saturday men's divisions sees 18 teams set to participate in the Premier Division and Division One set to increase back up to 16 teams.

Kintbury Rangers having won the Premier Division last season, have been promoted to the Wessex League and we wish them every success as they move up the pyramid. In terms of promotion to the Premier Division, we received just the one application to our Premier Division from our three Feeder Leagues, that being from Swindon Supermarine Development who finished second in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 2 Central division. There were no applications from either the Swindon & District League nor the Trowbridge & District League. Consequently three teams have been promoted from our Division One, champions Cricklade Town, runners-up Devizes Town Reserves and third placed Down Ampney. Cricklade return to the Premier Division after four seasons away, whilst for Devizes Town Reserves it has been a period of three years since they were last in the division. Down Ampney have also been members of the Premier Division in the past but it was some 20 years ago, their one and only season in the Premier Division being back in 2005-06. Congratulations to all three on their return to the Premier Division.

With the difficulties faced by their first team which resulted in their departure from the Southern League, initially it looked like Bemerton Heath Harlequins Reserves would be withdrawing from the Premier Division after just one season. However, the subsequent decision by Salisbury FC to withdraw their Development side has seen the management from Salisbury move across the city to Bemerton to run their reserve side and Bemerton will be remaining in the Premier Division next season. Having successfully operated with 18 teams for most of last season, the League Committee have once again decided to operate an 18-team division next season. Consequently, as a result of Salisbury's withdrawal, Faringdon Town, who were due to be relegated, have been given a reprieve and, subject to confirmation of the constitution at the AGM, will remain in the Premier Division next season. Malmesbury Victoria Development are, therefore, the only side who have been relegated from the Premier Division to Division One where they will look to regroup next season after a tough Season 2024-25.

Since the announcement of the proposed constitution for Division One this coming season two teams, Laverstock & Ford Reserves and Shrewton United Development have announced they will not be joining the division. However, these two sides will now be replaced by Faringdon Town Development and Hungerford Town U23. In addition there are two more new sides, Fairford Town Reserves and Great Western. Since the previous anouncement, there is also now a change of name with Bratton having merged with Westbury United Reserves for next season and will play their games at Meadow Lane.

The full intended make up of the two divisions for Season 2025-26 is now as follows:

Key: *P = Promoted Club, *NC = New Club to be elected at AGM, *R = Relegated

Under 18 Division

The Under 18 Division for next season sees three new sides joining, with Gillingham Town, Trowbridge Town and FC Chippenham Yth the new sides, the latter entering a second team . With the last season not being completed by the agreed deadline date set at the AGM, when there were three fewer teams, the proposal being put to the AGM tonight is to have two regional smaller divisions with play-offs and the cup competition played on a group basis to augment the fixtures. The proposed constitution is therefore as follows:

North/ East Division

Bishops Cannings

Calne Town

Devizes Town

FC Chippenham Youth B (*NC)

Kintbury Rangers

Swindon Supermarine

Wims 11

South West Division

Amesbury Town

FC Chippenham Youth

Gillingham Town (*NC)

Melksham Town

Radstock Town

Trowbridge Town (*NC)

Westbury United

If the clubs decide they want just the one division the league will need to start in August and the cup competition will revert back to being a straight knock-out competition.

Both Bemerton Heath Harlequins and AFC Brislington have been promoted to Tier 6 of the Women's Football Pyramid after finishing in promotion positions at the end of last season and we wish them both well as they progress up the pyramid.
