Kintbury Rangers Close to
U18 Division Title

Kintbury Rangers U18s who could well win the U18 title this week if RWBT fail to win at Radstock

The Under 18 Division edged closer to completion with three games played this week, two on Monday night and then one on Thursday.

On Monday night league leaders Kintbury Rangers put one hand firmly on the Under 18 Division champions trophy with a resounding 5-0 win over Bishops Cannings. When the two sides had met earlier in the season, they had shared four goals and the points, but this time round Bishops Cannings were no match for the league leaders. Leading scorer James Tomlinson helped himself to a hat-trick and further goals from Cameron Squires and Joseph Sheridan, the latter taking his tally for the season into double figures, completed the scoring.

Radstock Town were back in action on Monday looking to bounce back from their cup final defeat at the hands of Calne Town. They travelled to Bradford Town with an outside chance of still finishing runners-up if they could defeat Bradford Town and then also defeat the two teams above them Calne Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town, and then hope Bishops Cannings and Warminster Town could do them a favour in their games against the top two. They kept their hopes of honours alive on Monday night with a 5-2 away win, Thomas Hobbs firing a hat-trick, with Jayden Purnell and Archie Bullock also on target, Iwan Legg and Lyndon Banfield replying for Bradford Town.

On Thursday night Melksham Town ended their season on a winning note with their fourth straight win in an excellent end to the season. It was a dominant performance against Bradford Town from the start with Melksham two up within the first 15 minutes thanks to goals from Kegan Smart and Tom Dowell. It remained that way at the break. Melksham continued to dominate possession in the second half but it was only late on that they finally made sure of the three points, Tom Dowell with his second of the game to make the final score 3-0 to Melksham.

The scheduled fixture between Warminster Town and Royal Wootton Bassett Town was postponed with Warminster unable to raise a side. The game has now been rescheduled for this coming Thursday and hopefully Warminster will get to play their games against the top two so that the league honours for two of Kintbury Rangers, Royal Wootton Bassett Town, Calne Town and Radstock Town are won on the pitch.
