 Swindon Supermarine Dev Return To
The Top Of The Table With Sixth Win

Premier Division

There were just three games played in midweek this last week in the Premier Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League including a meeting of the two unbeaten sides, Faringdon Town and Swindon Supermarine Development at Tucker Park. The first half was a tight affair with the home side having the upper hand but the closest they went to scoring was when they hit the post and the two teams turned round with game still without a goal. It remained a cagey affair at the start of the second half, but the deadlock was finally broken just before the hour mark, a quick break saw Jack Payne execute a smart finish to give Swindon Supermarine Dev the lead. The visitors made sure it would be they who retained their unbeaten record when Thomas Phillips added a second 15 minutes from time with his sixth goal of the campaign to make it six wins from six games for Supermarine as they maintained their perfect start to the season as they moved back top of the table ahead of Saturday's encounter with Bemerton Heath Harlequins Reserves. Faringdon will look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season when they travel into Bath on Saturday to take on Larkhall Athletic Development in what looks to be the top fixture of the weekend as second place meets fourth.

Cricklade Town made it back-to-back wins with a 5-1 away success against Calne Town Reserves. Recent signing from Park United, Kias Bonner-Shea was reunited with his fellow strike partner at Lambourn Sports last season, Lewis Bexon-Shaw, and the two were both on target in Cricklade’s latest victory which saw them move up to fifth place in the table. The other Cricklade Town goals came courtesy of Jacob Ryan, Francesco Michienzi and Danny Hale, Darcy Garner with the consolation goal for Calne Town Reserves.

On a night of away wins, Wroughton picked up their third win of the season and had the experienced Shane Hibbert and Levi Cox to thank as both players, now in the twilight of their careers, scored in a 3-1 away win at Devizes Town Reserves, Dan Grieve with the other Wroughton goal.  Lenny Gale with the reply for Devizes Town Reserves with Devizes also missing a penalty. The win for Wroughton saw them climb up to eleventh place in the table.
