Premier Division
It was another busy midweek in the men’s Premier Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with five games played. On Tuesday night Shrewton United made the short trip into Salisbury to take on Bemerton Heath Harlequins and returned with all three points following a convincing 6-0 win to maintain their strong start to the season. Charlie Utterson is getting close to his tenth season at Shrewton and after scoring four of the Shrewton goals on Tuesday night, all in a blistering first half, is also closing in on 100 league goals for his club. Shrewton were 2-0 up inside the first four minutes of the game Jake Hardy setting up Utterson for the first two minutes in and Utterson then headed home for his second from a long throw from Eddie Perrett two minutes later. It was 3-0 before the game had reached the ten-minute mark, Tom Plank firing home from outside the box after Utterson had seen a shot blocked. Utterson then completed his hat-trick on 24 minutes to make it 4-0. Shrewton would score one more before the break and once more it was Utterson with the goal, tapping home after the Bemerton keeper failed to hold on to a shot from Lewis Cross to make it 5-0 at the break after an impressive first half performance from the visitors. To their credit Bemerton rallied in the second half and prevented any further damage until 16 minutes from time when Utterson was brought down in the box and Tom Plank made no mistake with the resulting penalty to make it 6-0. That was to be the end of the night’s scoring as Shrewton registered six goals in a game for the third time this season and are now the equal highest scorers in the division alongside Melksham Town Reserves but having played two games less. The win for Shrewton saw them move up to fourth spot in the table with games in hand over the two sides immediately above them in the table. Bemerton and Shrewton are set to meet again in midweek in the Fountain Trophies Cup next month. The same night Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development entertained bottom of the table Trowbridge Town at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground. The home side went into the game on the back of a good run of form that had seen them lose just once in their previous seven games and hoping to climb into the top five with a win. In a tight first half they were unable to find a way past a resolute and hard-working Trowbridge defence as the two sides turned around with the game still without a goal. The deadlock was finally broken early in the second half, Trowbridge keeper Jordan Gullis saving Sam Case’s effort on goal only for the ball to fall to Omar Sisay who fired home to give Royal Wootton Bassett Town the lead. The home side then doubled their lead Prince Nyongolo setting up Case for his sixth goal of the season. Nyongolo then scored a goal of his own firing home after good work from TJ Bohane to make it 3-0 as Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development registered their fifth win in nine games to move up to fifth spot, level on points with Shrewton United but having played one game more.
The top three sides in the division were all in action on Wednesday night with league leaders Swindon Supermarine up against a Wroughton side who have generally saved their best form for midweek so far this season. However, this would be a night to forget for Luigi Hernandez’s side as Swindon Supermarine scored eight times without reply to register their eighth straight win of the season to maintain their perfect record so far this season and their lead at the top of the division. The goals were shared around the side with seven different scorers on the night, substitute Jose Diaz-Butcher scored two with Joshua McKinlay, Samuel Sanger, Cheldon Valere, Evan Black, Juan Saloutsis and a seventh of the season from Thomas Phillips getting the other goals.

There were also eight goals in the game at the Meads of Melksham Community Stadium where Purton Kingsdown were Melksham Town Reserves visitors but, in this game, both sides would score four times. Purton Kingsdown led 3-1 at the break but Melksham came back strongly in the second half to score three times to lead 4-3 going into the final minute of the game. Just as it looked like Melksham would take all three points Purton Kingsdown equalised with virtually the last kick off the game to take a share of the points. On target for Melksham were Baillie Nicholas, Aron Byfield, Oliver Farrell and Kieran Higdon, two from Jamie Broadbank and one apiece for Aiden Miller and Oliver While in reply for Purton Kingsdown. Despite dropping those two points Melksham remain in third place but Shrewton are now just four points behind with two games in hand.
The final game of the night was on the 3G at the Plain Ham where second in the table Larkhall Athletic Development entertained Park United. Larkhall started brightly and scored within two minutes of the start, James Okell curling a well taken free kick into the top corner of the net for 1-0 to Larkhall. Okell then went from scorer to provider on 20 minutes, James Horrocks heading home from Okell’s corner to double Larkhall’s lead. Both sides were then reduced to ten men as the referee dismissed both Okell and Park’s Lewis McCarron for an off the ball incident. It remained 2-0 at the break. The second half saw Park United come out strongly and they reduced the arrears five minutes after the restart with a well taken drive from Alexander Pring. Larkhall then made five changes which ultimately swung the game back their way. Milo Murgatroyd missed a golden chance for the home side before moments later beating three men and then hitting the post with his shot. What proved to be the goal that confirmed a Larkhall victory came on 65 minutes, Larkhall captain Ben Riccio won the ball in midfield and released Arlo Stone, whose pinpoint pass put Ben Wickens through on goal, Wickens rounded the keeper and scored from a tight angle for 3-1 and his sixth goal of the season.

Division One
There was just the one game played in Division One in midweek, and it saw Kintbury Rangers Reserves climb up to third spot in the table with a 3-0 home win over Marlborough Town. Kintbury led 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Josh Wallin and Jake McQuilkin and added one more in the second half, Tiago Silva Peixoto with the third Kintbury goal. There are now just two points separating second placed Bradford Town Reserves and tenth placed Great Western. This coming Saturday sees all of the Wiltshire sides involved in the Wiltshire Junior Cup with just two league games with Fairford Town Reserves looking to extend their lead at the top when they host Shrivenham Development who themselves could go second if they defeat the leaders.
