Ladies Premier Division

The postponement of the Wiltshire County Cup Quarter Final between Purton Kingsdown and Highworth Town U18s the previous week saw two Premier Division fixtures postponed once the Wiltshire FA finally confirmed late on Thursday that the game would be scheduled for Sunday exactly in accordance with Wiltshire FA rules, rather than the following week when neither Purton Kingsdown nor Highworth Town Ladies first team had a game. This meant both FC Abbey Meads and Westbury Ladies saw their games postponed late on through no fault of their own. Ironically the cup game on Sunday was then again postponed due to the pitch at Highworth getting cut up the previous day in the Uhlsport Hellenic League fixture between Highworth Town and Corsham Town. The outstanding cup quarter final has now been rearranged for this coming Sunday at Green Lane at least guaranteeing that the weather should not cause another postponement given the 3G surface.

This meant that just three games were played in the Premier Division with the big match at the top of the table being the meeting of Keynsham Town A and Marlborough Town. It would prove to be a close encounter at Keynsham with the home side eventually edging it 2-1 thanks to goals from Kerry Bartlett and Lola Kondorosi, Izzy Kirwan with the Marlborough Town goal.

Calne Town picked up their third win of the season to move up to fifth spot, defeating visitors Barford Hornets 5-2. There were two goals for both Sophie Shine and Isobel Satchall, with Ellie Hamill getting the other Calne Town goal, Molly McCarthy and Georgi Bavister with the reply for Barford Hornets.

Melksham Town recorded their biggest league win of the season, matching the 12-0 scoreline they had achieved in their cup game against Division One side FC Chippenham. This latest win was against Swindon Supermarine who, despite the heavy defeat, fielded a full complement of players for the first time in a while, which is encouraging. There were hat-tricks for both India Mulliss and Ella King, Rebecca Kench bagged a brace with further goals from Imogen Bailey, Izzy McGuiness, Nicholle Duncan and Andrea Chludilova. The win for Melksham saw them move to win two points of leaders Marlborough Town.

Division One

There were four games played in Division One with the Durrington v Ferndale Rodbourne game postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but has been quickly rearranged for December 7th when neither side had a game due to no longer being in the League Cup.

In the games that were played Salisbury made it eight wins in eight with a 2-0 home win over the other side who went into the weekend with a perfect record, FC Chippenham. Goals from Angela Collins and Ellie Tompkins gave Salisbury the vital win which saw them move six points clear of their beaten opponents, although FC Chippenham have a game in hand.

Blunsdon moved above Malmesbury Vics into third spot with a narrow 2-1 away win at Marlborough Town Reserves thanks to goals from Laura Gammon and Jody Nicholls, Rhianna Williams with the reply for the home side.

There was a high-scoring game between Purton Kingsdown Reserves and Bishops Cannings at Kingsdown School with Bishops Cannings returning home with all three points in the bag following an 8-3 win. Elsie Brewer and Lily Taylor led the way, both scoring twice, with further goals from Georgia Brown, Paige Brazier and Lucy-Anne Skinner with the other goal coming courtesy of an own goal.

The final game of the week saw Staverton Rangers win 5-0 against Stratton, Maisie Harris getting four of the goals and Hannah Higgs getting the other Staverton goal.
