There were again four games played in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week and one of those games saw the last unbeaten record in the division fall, as Swindon Supermarine were defeated for the first time this season, going down 3-1 away against Wims 11 at Mangotsfield. The game on Monday night saw the two teams turn around at the break with the game still awaiting its first goal. However, the spectators didn’t have to wait long in the second half Okikiola Olawuyi putting Wims ahead within a minute of the restart after good work from Billy Wimble. Wimble then scored a goal of his own from the penalty spot, and an own goal then put Wims 3-0 ahead. There was to be a late goal for Swindon Supermarine deep into injury time, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal scored by the division’s leading scorer Alfie Telling who took his total for the season to 16. The defeat coupled with results elsewhere saw Swindon Supermarine lose their leadership of the division.

The new leaders of the division are Calne Town who made it four league wins on the bounce with a 6-0 home win over Kintbury Rangers  to move a point clear at the top of the table and takeover as the division’s leading scorers.  There were six different scorers on the night for Calne with Owen Jones, Jamie Heaton, Ruben Allaway, Ellis Lynch, Freddie Treacy and Kieran Kennedy all getting on the score sheet.

On Thursday night Amesbury Town  climbed up to fifth place in the table with a 6-1 away win over Trowbridge Town with Oliver Ford (2), Malick Dem, Tyler Fairclough, Charlie Creese and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh all amongst the goals for Amesbury, Kieran Harris-Southey with the Trowbridge Town reply.

Devizes Town are level on points with Amesbury after picking up their third win of the season, a narrow 2-1 victory over Gillingham Town at Green Lane on Monday night to complete a league double over Gillingham having defeated them 4-1 in the first meeting between the sides in the first week of the season. On target for Devizes were Lewis Hancox, with his fifth goal of the season and Morgan Selemani-Parker, Daniel Dacombe with the Gillingham goal. Whilst Devizes are level on points with Amesbury, they have played four more games and are the only side to have played all of their scheduled 12 games in what was Week 12 of the current season. Three other teams, leaders Calne Town, second placed Swindon Supermarine and Gillingham Town have reached the half-way point with their league fixtures, having played 11 games, whilst Wims meanwhile have played just six so far for various reasons and will have a busy second half to the season.
