Premier Division
Before the season started teams in the men’s Premier Division were asked whether they would be interested in a game on Saturday 27th December. Three teams said yes enabling two of the three to play each other on that Saturday as Park United entertained Larkhall Athletic Development at Corsham Town’s ground. This allowed both teams to play game number 20 of the season and join 11 other sides in having played at least 20 of their now 32 league fixtures before the turn of the calendar year. With snow forecast to hit the UK in early January the league is well placed to complete its league games without the need for too many midweek games at the end of the season and avoid an influx of players from Step 5 and 6 at the end of the season which could impact the race for honours, promotion and the relegation battle.
Larkhall Athletic went into the game on Saturday knowing that a win would see them move back into second place in the table and close the gap to leaders Shrewton United. However, Park United, although having something of an inconsistent season, tend to raise their game against the leading side and had defeated the leaders Shrewton at home at the end of November and had also knocked Swindon Supermarine out of the County Cup and Larkhall knew they would probably need to be at their best for the trip to Corsham. Whilst Larkhall were on top in the first half they were unable to find the back of the net despite creating several good chances and found themselves trailing 1-0 at the break to an Adam Mitchell goal. Second half saw Park have the better of things and they secured a deserved three points when a free kick from substitute Aaron Ledgister made it 2-0 to the home side. The win for Park saw them climb one place in the table to tenth spot. Both sides will be back in action on the first Saturday of 2026, Park United will be away to Devizes Town Reserves in the league, whilst Larkhall Athletic Development will be home to Division One side Faringdon Town Development in the Fountain Trophies Cup, a competition in recent seasons they have done well in.
The game on Saturday was the 190th played this season in the Premier Division, although 20 of those games have now been removed from the record book following the withdrawal of Cricklade Town. After adjusting for the withdrawal of Cricklade, the season is currently 62.5% complete, the best performing division of the seven divisions across the league. Division One is the second furthest completed with 57.1% of the season completed. The lowest level of completion is the Ladies Premier Division, as was the case last season at this stage, with just 43.3% of games completed, although this is mainly due to the Ladies not starting until September. The statistics for all the divisions in terms of games played, level of completion and level of postponements is shown in the table below:

Finally, as this is the last roundup before the New Year, on behalf of the Committee of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League, a happy and prosperous New Year to all involved in the league in whatever capacity.
