Despite the bitterly cold weather, four games in the Ladies’ Divisions went ahead on the first Sunday in January, two in each Division.
Premier Division
The big match in the Premier Division saw Keynsham Town "A" go top of the table for the first time with a 3-1 home win over FC Abbey Meads. Two goals from Tia Mahadevan and one Gracie Reed securing the points for Keynsham, Amelia Fowles with the FC Abbey Meads goal.
Westbury Ladies remain in eighth position despite a fine 6-1 victory away at Calne Town. Rebecca Guy and Chloe Harkness both scored twice with further goals from Naomi Tippetts and Alice Bevan, the Calne reply coming courtesy of an own goal. Alan and Barbara Swan were at the game and more of their pictures can be seen on the League Facebook Group Page.
Division One
In Division 1, Blunsdon were proactive and booked a 3G pitch to ensure that their fixture against Ferndale Rodbourne could go ahead and their efforts were rewarded with a 3-0 win with Laura Gammon scoring all three Blunsdon goals. Blunsdon remain in third place, but are now just a point off second spot in the table.
Biggest winners of the day were Bishop’s Cannings who won 9-0 at home to Stratton and remain in fifth place, but level on points with fourth placed Malmesbury Victoria. Star of the show was Elsie Brewer who notched a double hat-trick with the other goals coming through Megan Price, Lucy-Anne Skinner and Paige Brazier.
