Gillingham & Trowbridge Complete Their Games

The U18 Floodlight Division edged closer to completion with both Gillingham Town and Trowbridge Town playing their final games of the season, in the case of Gillingham this involved games on both Tuesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday night Gillingham Town travelled to Radstock Town for a game that had been rearranged between the clubs, with Radstock originally scheduled by the league to also be playing on the Monday away to Wims 11. However, Radstock became the latest side to fail to travel to play Wims and that game was awarded to Wims by the Discipline Committee. The game that Radstock did play saw them fall to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Gillingham. A Caleb Pack goal set Gillingham on their way and a second from Thomas Gaylard three minutes before the break put the visitors in command. Two goals early in the second half from Daniel Dacombe made sure of the points for Gillingham.

Gillingham Town followed this 4-0 win on Tuesday night with another 4-0 win two days later, their opponents on this occasion being Trowbridge Town, with both sides playing their final game of the season. Once again first half goals from Caleb Pack and Thomas Gaylard, the latter taking his total for the season to 11, put Gillingham on track for their ninth win of the season. Joseph Terry then extended their lead just after the hour mark with his first goal of the season and James Barclay concluded the scoring with a fourth Gillingham goal five minutes from time.

This now leaves five league fixtures to complete the league season, four involving Kintbury Rangers who remain suspended for the time being, with their cup final against Wims 11 also currently on hold. The game still to be played is then the game between Wims and Westbury United where the League wait to see if the two clubs can agree a date to play their outstanding game, although with exam season started there is a chance this will not be played. The Berks & Bucks FA notified the League in midweek that the case involving Kintbury Rangers is awaiting a hearing with the FA’s Serious Case Panel at Wembley.
