Roundup W/C 1 Sept

The Under 18 Floodlight Division saw one game played before the rest of the division started due to the two teams, Melksham Town and Westbury United, participating in the national FA Youth Cup competition. It would prove to be a comfortable night for a strong Melksham Town side as they ran out 7-0 winners. Two goals for Oliver Robinson, with the other five being shared around the team with Rueben Church, Ben Gingell, Theo Griffiths, Oscar Hall and Callum Kirkman all finding the back of the net.

With the rest of the league getting their league fixtures underway this week the two sides had mixed fortunes in the FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round. On Monday night Westbury United fell to a 7-0 home defeat at the hands of Swindon Supermarine’s South West Counties Youth League side. Melksham Town were in action the following night and had a night to remember, securing a 4-2 away win at Bishops Cleeve that sets up a enticing First Qualifying Round tie against near neighbours Chippenham Town, with that tie expected to take place on Thursday 18th September.

In this week’s league fixtures the biggest winners of the week were Bishops Cannings who on Monday night inflicted a heavy defeat on last season’s champions Radstock Town who are in the process of a rebuild after last season’s runaway title success. Oliver Holbrook led the way in the 9-0 win, scoring a hat-trick, Jack Spanswick bagged a brace and there were further goals from Thomas Thomas, Oliver Fedyk, Nathaniel Balinski and Rhys Phillips. The game itself was a lot my competitive than the final score would suggest, with the home side scoring a rush of goals towards the end of the game.

The same night there was a tight game at Kintbury Recreation ground where home side Kintbury Rangers  edged a close encounter over Calne Town by the odd goal, Oliver Hall and Ryan Hutchings scoring in a 2-1 win.

Amesbury Town were another side to get their season off to a winning start with a 6-1 home win over new side Trowbridge Town on Thursday night. Martin Jack scored twice for Amesbury with the Oliver Ford, Brandon Crofts, Toby Cooper and Hugo Drury-Smith all also getting one apiece, Bruno Kopera with the consolation goal for Trowbridge. Alwyn Bodman was at the game with his camera and pictures from the game can be found on the League Facebook Group page.

Devizes Town were the final side to get their season off to a successful start winning 4-1 away at the other new side to the league, Gillingham Town. Star of the show was Theo Drewitt who scored hat-trick with Lewis Hancock getting the other Devizes goal, Finley Holm with the Gillingham reply.

The same night Swindon Supermarine were involved in a local derby game against Wims 11 in a game played at the Imagine Cruising Stadium. Swindon Supermarine led 1-0 thanks to a Alfie Telling goal as the game moved deep into injury time, but Wims snatched a share of the points with a goal from Omaree Cox in the fifth minute of added time as it finished 1-1.

Roundup W/C 8 Sept

After a perfect first week, unfortunately just three of the scheduled fixtures in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League were played this week. The scheduled game on Monday night between Kintbury Rangers and Wims 11 was postponed on the afternoon of the game due the manager having to deal with another matter, with Wims then having nobody available on the night to take the side. Frustratingly, Kintbury Rangers had agreed to switch the game to their ground to accommodate Wims, with Wims still without a venue to play at. This had necessitated moving Kintbury’s fixture in our Division One against Marlborough Town to the Wednesday night to facilitate the additional midweek home game.

Trowbridge Town are another side currently without a ground to play on although their pitch at Woodmarsh is set to be back available next month with recent rain helping bring the pitch close to being usable again. An attempt to switch their game against Bishops Cannings to Green Lane on Monday, when the Green Lane facility became available due to the Devizes Town v Amesbury Town game being switched to Amesbury, was unsuccessful. Extensive attempts to find another ground to stage the game on the original Thursday date were also unsuccessful.

The rain in the week, whilst helpful in one respect, did however cause one of the other scheduled games to be postponed, Radstock Town  being forced to call off their game against Melksham Town due to standing water on their pitch following a heavy downpour.

The three games that did get played saw Amesbury Town  and Devizes Town involved in a rare 0-0 draw at this level that sees both teams on four points and the early leaders of the division. This game had been scheduled for the Monday night at Green Lane but was switched to Thursday at Amesbury as a result of Amesbury’s Wilts FA Youth Cup game on Sunday which saw them win 5-2 away at Barford Hornets to progress to the Second Round where they will be away to Westbury United.

Swindon Supermarine  are also sat at the top of the table on four points after they secured their first three-point haul of the season, a 3-1 away win over Westbury United  on Thursday night thanks to goals from Mauricio Perciavalle, Alfie Telling and Isaac Chalk, Alfie Edgington with the Westbury United goal. Both Westbury United and Swindon Supermarine had entered the Wiltshire FA Youth Cup and Westbury had won their game against Wroughton Youth on Sunday 3-2 to set up that tie with Amesbury Town in the Second Round. Swindon Supermarine meanwhile conceded their tie against Ferndale Rodbourne with the club still represented by another team from a different league.

The same night Calne Town bounced back from their opening week defeat at the hands of Kintbury Rangers to register their first points of the season, winning 5-2 at home against new side Gillingham Town. Archie Simpkins scored twice for Calne with Lawson Mears, Euan Ballinger and Alex Greenhouff all also finding the back of the net for the home side. Archie Appleby and Daniel Yeatman with the Gillingham goals. Calne Town are also in the Wiltshire FA Youth Cup and are into the Second Round after Westbury Youth Raptors conceded their First Round tie. Calne Town will be home to AFC Corsham Jaguars in the Second Round.

The final remaining representative from the division in the Wilts FA Youth Cup are Bishops Cannings who will be away to Marlborough Youth in the Second Round having had a bye in the First Round. The full First Round results and Second round draw are shown below:

Roundup W/C 15 Sept

There were just four of the five scheduled games played in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week as the rain during the week put paid to Westbury United’s game against Wims 11 with the Westbury ground set to host Devizes Town FA Vase fixture two days later.

The early leaders of the division are Swindon Supermarine who are unbeaten after their opening three games, their second victory of the season being a 2-0 home win over last season’s champions Radstock Town who have now lost both of their opening two fixtures, Louis Croston with both of the Swindon Supermarine goals.

Bishops Cannings and Calne Town sit a point behind Swindon Supermarine in the table. Bishops Cannings made it back-to-back wins to open their season, defeating near neighbours Devizes Town 3-1 at Green Lane in front of three figure crowd, an impressive crowd for an U18 Floodlight Division fixture.  On target for Bishops Cannings were Selby Wright, Thomas Thomas and Jack Spanswick, Oscar Wall with the reply for Devizes Town.

After an opening game defeat against Kintbury Rangers, Calne Town have bounced back with two consecutive wins, their latest triumph a 3-1 away win at Amesbury Town, Alfie Pawlak-Walsh with the Amesbury goal.

Gillingham Town picked up their first points of the season with an impressive 3-0 win over a Kintbury Rangers side who had opened their season with that win over Calne Town in the first week of the season. Daniel Dacombe bagged a brace with the other Gillingham goal being scored by Thomas Gaylard.

In the FA Youth Cup First Qualifying Round Melksham Town pushed Chippenham Town all the way taking the tie to penalties. Melksham led 2-1 at half-time and then led 3-2 going into the closing stages of the game, this after their keeper had also saved a penalty on the hour mark to keep the score at 2-2. However, an equaliser for Chippenham six minutes from time meant that penalties were needed to settle matters. Melksham scored all four of their opening penalties but missed their final two to lose 6-5 on penalties, a gallant effort against the higher-level club. If the crowd for the Devizes U18 derby was large, the crowd at Melksham on Thursday night was even more impressive with the reported attendance being 236.

Roundup W/C 22 Sept

Despite the overwhelming desire from the clubs to have just one division in the U18 Floodlight Division, there has not been a full schedule of six games played since Week 1 of the season. In Week 4 Wims 11 were unfortunately unable to raise a side for their game away at Gillingham Town meaning just five of the scheduled fixtures went ahead with Wims having played just the one game so far. Hopefully Week 5 will see a full house of games played, with games already having to be scheduled in half-term.

The early leaders of the division are Swindon Supermarine who maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 6-1 away win against Trowbridge Town in a game played at Shrewton United with the pitch at Trowbridge not yet quite ready to recommence staging games. Swindon Supermarine made it three wins and a draw from their opening four fixtures thanks to goals from Alfie Telling (2), Xavier Beczek, Isaac Chalk, Peter Dawson and Anthony Gianni, Junior Gweshe with the consolation goal for Trowbridge.

Calne Town sit second in the table after they registered their third straight win with a 3-1 home victory over Bishops Cannings, inflicting a first defeat of the season on their opponents in the process. Goals from Euan Ballinger, Alexander Greenouff and Archy Simpkins, the latter scoring his fifth goal of the season to be the early leader of the goal scoring chart, secured the three points, Oliver Holbrook with the Bishops Cannings goal.

Amesbury Town are third in the table two points behind Calne Town after a 4-1 home win over Kintbury Rangers. First half goals from Tyler Fairclough and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh and two more after the break from Oliver Ford gave Amesbury the win, Stan Hardman with the consolation goal for Kintbury Rangers.

After their FA Youth Cup exploits Melksham Town are playing catch up with their fixtures and they maintained their 100% winning start to the season in the league with a 4-1 away win over Devizes Town at Green Lane on Monday night. Ted Scott led the way scoring twice for Melksham with Brandon Cox and Callum Kirkman getting the other two Melksham goals, Ollie Charles with the Devizes reply. David Giles was at the game with his camera and more of his excellent photos can be seen on the League Facebook Group page.

After losing their opening two fixtures, last season’s champions Radstock Town finally got their season up and running with a 5-2 home win over Westbury United. Taylor Willis had a night to remember scoring a hat-trick with further goals for Radstock coming through Jasper Richards and Harry Grimsey. The two Westbury goals were scored by Izacc Pritchard-Hanna and Grejdi Murati.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 29 Sept

For the first time since the first round of fixtures in Season 2025-26 there was a full schedule of six games played in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week.

Swindon Supermarine continue to lead the division and were the biggest winners of the week defeating Devizes Town 6-1 with the goals being shared around with six different scorers for Supermarine on the night. On target for the league leaders were Lewis Banks, Anthony Gianni, Bailey Packer, Mauricio Perciavalle, Jander Santos and Alfie Telling, with the Devizes consolation goal being scored by Oscar Wall.

Calne Town sit second in the table after a fourth straight win and it was an impressive victory as well as they became the first side this season to defeat Melksham Town in the league this season, the victory also coming away at Melksham. Another goal for the division’s leading scorer Archy Simpkins, with Kieran Kennedy, Lawson Mears and Owen Jones also all finding the back of the net for Calne, Leon Hardman with the Melksham goal. Melksham’s cause was not helped by having a player sent-off.

Amesbury Town picked up their third win of the season thanks to goals from Oliver Ford and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh in a 2-0 home win over Gillingham Town. The victory leaves Amesbury sat in third place in the table with the top three, along with Devizes Town, all having played the scheduled full quota of five games at this stage of the season.

Bishops Cannings are fourth in the table after they bounced back from the previous week’s defeat at the hands of Calne Town with an impressive 6-2 win over Kintbury Rangers on the 3G at Green Lane. Jack Spanswick led the way scoring twice, taking his tally for the season to five, with further goals from Olver Holbrook, Leo Powell, Tom Sharples and Kory Wildman.

Wims 11, like Swindon Supermarine are currently unbeaten although Wims have only played two games so far and will suffer a points deduction from having been unable to raise a side for their recent postponed game against Gillingham Town. The second game played so far this season saw them win 4-2 away at last season’s champions Radstock Town, two goals for Billy Wimble with William Smith and Caden Greensides getting the other two Wims goals.

There was a close encounter at Meadow Lane in the game between Westbury United and Trowbridge Town with the game being decided by an injury time winner. The winning goal went the way of Westbury, William Bendell scoring in the 92nd minute to give his side a narrow 3-2 victory.  Westbury had gone in front thanks to an own goal, but Kieran Harris-Southey levelled matters up at 1-1. Liam Coles then put Westbury back in front but a second from Harris-Southey five minutes later levelled matters-up for a second time. Trowbridge then had a player sent-off before the late drama which saw Westbury claim all three points.

It would prove to be a good week for Westbury United as they followed this league victory up with another 3-2 win on Sunday, this time in the Wiltshire FA County Youth Cup. Their victims were another side form the U18 Floodlight Division, Amesbury Town.

Two other sides from the Floodlight Division were also in County Youth Cup action on Sunday and both progressed to the next round. Bishops Cannings were away at Marlborough Youth, and six unanswered goals saw them progress to the last sixteen of the competition. Joining them in the round of 16 will be Calne Town who were 3-0 winners over AFC Corsham Jaguars.

The Wiltshire County FA have already made the draw for the Third Round and two of our sides will meet each other with Calne Town drawn at home to Westbury United, whilst Bishops Cannings have been drawn away to Malmesbury Victoria. The Third Round games are scheduled for Sunday 2nd November. Full details of results in the County Cup competition to date are shown below:

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 06 October

Both the top two sides in the Under 18 Floodlight Division had big wins in the latest round of fixtures. After losing their opening game Calne Town have now won five league games in a row and won six games in a row in all competitions. On Thursday night they recorded their biggest win of the season so far, beating Westbury United 8-1 on their own ground. There were two more goals for Archy Simpkins in the big win with the other goals being shared around with Finley Lovelock, Euan Ballinger, Owen Jones, Dominick Stanislas, Freddie Treacy and Ben Wilkins all scoring one apiece, William Bendall with the consolation goal for Westbury.

League leaders Swindon Supermarine remain unbeaten and a point clear at the top of the table after another big win, the leaders scoring seven unanswered goals at home to Kintbury Rangers on Wednesday night at the Imagine Cruising Stadium. Star of the show was Alfie Telling who helped himself to four goals to become the division’s leading scorer at this early stage on nine goals. The other three goals were scored by Mauricio Perciavalle, Bailey Packer and Liam Clark.

Bishops Cannings are up to third place in the table after a narrow 3-2 away win at Amesbury Town thanks to goals from Oliver Fedyk, Oliver Holbrook and Rhys Phillips. On target for Amesbury were Oliver Ford with his fifth goal of the season and Ousman Camara. The win for Bishops Cannings saw them move above their beaten opponents.

There was another close contest at Oakfields where Melksham Town’s visitors were Gillingham Town, Melksham eventually edging it by the odd goal in a seven-goal game to register their third win in four games.  There was a hat-trick for Kieran Higdon with the other Melksham goal coming through Felix Scott. The three goals in reply for Gillingham Town were scored by Robert Hollick, Lucas Prescod-Toogood and Finlay Holm. The win for Melksham leaves them in fifth place a point behind Amesbury Town but with two games in hand.

The final game of the week was at Radstock Town where last season’s runaway champions were home to Devizes Town and it finished honours even, the two sides battling it out for a 1-1 draw, Harry Grimsey with the Radstock goal with Devizes getting their equaliser late on to ensure a share of the points.

The top game in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week was the meeting on Thursday night between the top two at the start of the week, Swindon Supermarine and Calne Town. Supermarine went into the game unbeaten in their opening six league fixtures, whilst Calne Town had lost their opening game of the season but then proceeded to win their next five to sit just one point behind the leaders ahead of the meeting of the two sides. It was to prove to be Swindon Supermarine’s night as two goals from Alfie Telling and one from Liam Clark saw them secure a 3-1 win to extend their lead at the top of the table to four points with both sides having played seven games, Harrison Pierce with the Calne Town goal.

Bishops Cannings moved up to joint second in the table with a 2-1 away win at Gillingham Town thanks to a sixth goal of the season from Jack Spanswick and one from Thomas Thomas, Harry Todd with the Gillingham goal.

The weeks action had got underway on Monday night with games at Kintbury and Green Lane Devizes with the two games producing plenty of goals. At Kintbury Melksham Town made it four wins in five league games with a 4-1 away win. Kieran Higdon led the way scoring twice with Ted Scott scoring one and the other coming courtesy of an own goal, William Kent with the Kintbury Rangers goal. The win for Melksham saw them move up to fourth spot in the table, seven points behind the leaders but with two games in hand.

At Green Lane Devizes Town and visitors Westbury United shared six goals and the points as it finished 3-3, the second consecutive game that Devizes had drawn and the third time in seven games in what is shaping up to be a competitive division again this season. On target for the home side were Lewis Hancox, Oscar Wall and Euan Young, two from Rayane Hamdia and one from Harley-Joe Closman in reply for Westbury.

Radstock Town registered their second win of the season, a 6-0 away success at Trowbridge Town whose U18 side were playing their first game of the season under the new floodlights at Woodmarsh and attracted a three figure crowd to the game. On target for Radstock Town were Daniel Andrews, Freddy Cue, Jamie Gardner, Harley James, Jenson Palmer and Ryan Wheatley.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 20 & 27 October

There have been six games played in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League in the past fortnight.

Two of those games have involved Devizes Town. The first of those two games saw them secure a comfortable 7-0 win over bottom of the table Trowbridge Town. Caelon Whyte helped himself to a hat-trick with further goals from Elliot Sartin, Lewis Hancox, Archie Brewitt and Logan Brewitt.

Devizes Town followed that up last week with a 2-2 draw against Wims 11 last Monday night at Green Lane, Theo Drewitt getting both Devizes goals to see them sit in the top half of the table after having played nine games.

League leaders Swindon Supermarine played just the one game in the fortnight, and it was something of a goal fest away at Gillingham Town, the two sides sharing 11 goals with Swindon Supermarine taking the three points courtesy of a 7-4 score line. Both Peter Dawson and Antoni Dulik scored twice for Supermarine with Isaac Chalk, Jack Taylor and Shay Williams getting the other goals for the Swindon based side. There were four different scorers for the hosts Gillingham Town, Finlay Holm, Daniel Dacombe, Harry Todd and Jack Hinchliffe all getting their name on the score sheet.

Bishops Cannings  set second in the table and kept the pressure on Swindon Supermarine with their sixth win in seven games, scoring six unanswered goals against Wims 11 in the first game staged at Wims new ground at Mangotsfield United. Bailey Penney led the way scoring a hat-trick with further goals from Maz Raczek, Tom Sharples ad Jack Spanswick. Bishops Cannings remain four points behind Swindon Supermarine with a game in hand following this latest victory.

Calne Town are level on points with Bishops Cannings having played one game more after a 3-1 home win over Radstock Town. Two more goals for Calne Town’s Archy Simpkins saw him take his tally for the season into double figures with Charlie Hancock getting the other Calne Town goal. Radstock’s Isaac Ponari scoring the Radstock goal from the penalty spot.

The second of two league games played last week saw Melksham Town secure a big win over bottom of the table Trowbridge Town. There were four goals for Callum Kirkman, two for Rueben Church, Theo Griffiths and Kieran Higdon and one each for Felix Scott and Ted Scott in the 12-1 win which sees Melksham sat fourth in the table with games in hand over all three teams that are currently above them in the table.

In the various County FA Youth Cups, Kintbury Rangers exited the Berks & Bucks competition beaten 5-3 away at Thatcham Town, whilst in the Wiltshire FA competition Calne Town progressed to the quarter final stage with a 7-0 win over Westbury United.

There are three clubs who have not submitted goal scoring information for some of their games and clubs are reminded of the need to submit this information in a timely fashion.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 03 November

It was a good week for fixtures last week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with all five scheduled fixtures being played.

The action got underway on Wednesday night when league leaders Swindon Supermarine took on Amesbury Town in a game played on the main club pitch at Swindon Supermarine rather than the normal Great Western Academy venue used by the U18 team. The two teams served up an entertaining encounter at the Imagine Cruising Stadium. It was the visitors Amesbury who went ahead early on, Oliver Ford firing in from the left-hand side of the box to give his side the lead. Swindon Supermarine got themselves back on level terms with a well taken goal from Jander Santos. The home side then had a golden chance to go in front for the first time in the game when a ball into the box found Alfie Telling on the edge of the six-yard box, but the division's leading scorer somehow sent his effort over the bar. There continued to be plenty of chances at both ends in an open game between the two sides. Telling was to make up for that miss shortly afterwards, heading home from a cross from the right wing, placing his header back across goal to give the Amesbury keeper no chance for 2-1. The lead did not last long though as Amesbury restored parity when Ford took advantage of a defensive error to fire Amesbury back level with his second of the game. There was still time for one more goal in what had been an entertaining first half and it was no surprise that it was the division’s leading scorer Telling who got the goal, the ball finding him in the box with his back to goal, his quick turn and powerful shot with his left foot giving the Amesbury keeper no chance for 3-2. Telling then completed his hat-trick after the restart with the best goal of the game, volleying home from the edge of the 18-yard box to complete his hat-trick and take his tally for the season in the league to 14 and give his side a 4-2 lead. Swindon Supermarine had several chances to extend their lead but were denied on a number of occasions by the Amesbury keeper who was having an excellent game despite having seen the opposition score four times. Amesbury were then given hope that they might salvage something out of the game when Jacob Adams headed powerfully home from a corner to make it 4-3. Amesbury pushed for an equaliser but could not find a way through and the closest that either side got to adding another goal to the night’s tally was when Swindon Supermarine hit the bar late on. The win for Supermarine maintained their four-point lead at the top of the table. Highlights from the game can be viewed on Swindon Supermarine TV.

Calne Town moved up to second spot following a comfortable 6-1 away win at Trowbridge Town. Freddie Treacy led the way scoring twice with further goals from Finley Lovelock, Kieran Kennedy, Owen Jones and Ruben Allaway, Jorge Evans with the Trowbridge Town goal.

Bishops Cannings and Melksham Town both have games in hand over the top two sides and are expected to feature heavily in this season’s title race. The two met at Oakfields on Thursday night and served up a close encounter that saw the two sides have to settle for a point apiece following a 2-2 draw. On target for Melksham were Callum Kirkman and Daryl James with Jack Spanswick and Kory Wildman getting the Bishops Cannings goals. Bishops Cannings trail Calne by two points but with a game in hand. Melksham Town are then three points behind Bishops Cannings with a game in hand over Cannings and two in hand over the top two sides.

Bobby Canning was the star of the show for Kintbury Rangers in their 3-1 away win at Radstock Town. The win for Kintbury saw them climb above Westbury United into joint eighth spot.

Joining Kintbury on six points in eighth spot are Gillingham Town who picked up their second and biggest win of the season, a 7-2 away win at Westbury United. There was a hat-trick for Thomas Gaylard,  two goals from Archie Appleby, with Charlie Watson and Daniel Yeatman also amongst the goals, Harry Matthews and Mitchell Lamden with the two Westbury goals.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 10 November

As the wet and cold season finally arrives just three of the five scheduled fixtures went ahead last week. However, Monday night’s game between Kintbury Rangers and Trowbridge Town was not a victim of the weather it was postponed with Trowbridge unable to raise a side. Credit to both Kintbury Rangers and Swindon Supermarine, the latter having lost their fixture due to Bishop Cannings County Cup fixture, who spent a lot of Sunday night working with the league trying to give Kintbury Rangers a replacement game on the Monday. In the end this was not logistically possible, but the two sides did co-operate to arrange for the game to take place the following night. Unfortunately, the heavy rain that followed resulted in a waterlogged pitch meaning the efforts of the two sides and the league had been in vain.

The one game that did go ahead on the Monday night was at Mangotsfield United where Wims 11 entertained Melksham Town on the 3G at the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division ground. Omaree Cox fired Wims ahead, but Ted Scott got Melksham back on level terms around the half hour mark. Parity did not last long though as Cox notched his second of the game to give Wims a 2-1 half-time lead. It remained that way until just before the hour mark when Wims were awarded a penalty. Billy Wimble duly put the penalty away to give his side a 3-1 lead and that is how it finished as Wims picked up their second win of the season to climb one place in the table.

Thursday night saw a waterlogged pitch cause the postponement of the Amesbury Town v Westbury United fixture but two games on grass did go ahead. At Bremhill View Calne Town continued their recent good form to win their fourth game in a row in all competitions, and third in a row in the league. Whilst their previous two victories had been comfortable affairs they were made to work hard for the three points by Devizes Town, eventually edging it by the odd goal in five. Charlie Hancock scored twice for Calne with the other goal in the 3-2 win coming courtesy of an own goal, Oscar Wall and a penalty from Theo Drewitt in reply for Devizes Town.

Biggest winners of the week were Gillingham Town who scored five against last season’s champions Radstock Town. Archie Appleby scored twice with further goals from Thomas Gaylard, Charlie Watson and Lucas Prescod-Toogood in the 5-1 win. Archie Appleby set them on their way with the opener before Lucas Prescod-Toogood doubled their lead. Gillingham then scored a third on the stroke of half time through Thomas Gaylard to put them in a commanding position at the break. Radstock pulled one back early in the second half but further Gillingham goals from Charlie Watson and a second of the game from Appleby made sure of the points for the home side.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 17 November

There were four games played in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week. On the Monday night Kintbury Rangers picked up their third win of the season, a solitary strike from Stanley Herdman being enough to give them all three points against Devizes Town.

The same night Bishops Cannings were in action at Green Lane and goals from Sebastian Kent, Casper Olczak, Jack Spanswick and Aaron Waldron secured a 4-0 home win over Westbury United  and saw Bishops Cannings move to within two points of second placed Calne Town with a game in hand.

There was an entertaining game at the Imagine Cruising Stadium between league leaders Swindon Supermarine and Melksham Town on the Wednesday night, with plenty of chances at both ends and both keepers pulling off some great saves during the game. The first of the two keepers called into action was the Melksham keeper who pulled off a tremendous save to prevent Supermarine taking an early lead. At the other end, Melksham were then awarded a penalty and now it was the turn of the Supermarine keeper to pull off the save, diving to his left to save the spot kick. It would be Supermarine who would finally get themselves the first goal, a free kick into the box found Alfie Telling just inside the area, he controlled it before hitting a powerful volley into the far bottom corner of the net to make it 1-0 to the home side. There continued to be chances at both ends, but it remained just the one goal in it mainly due to the efforts of the two keepers. Ironically it would be an error though from the Supermarine keeper that allowed Melksham back into the game, his miscontrol allowing him to be closed down by Latrell Flower and the attempted clearance ricocheting off the Melksham player and into the net. Melksham then went close twice to taking the lead, hitting the bar on both occasions, the first an effort from just inside their opponent’s half and then a second time from a free kick. It remained 1-1 as the teams turned around at the break. The two sides continued to create chances at both ends, but it would be Supermarine who got their noses in front for a second time, a free kick from Liam Clark deceiving everyone and ending up in the back of the net for 2-1. The two sides would in the end, however, have to settle for a point apiece, a mix up by the Supermarine defence allowing the Melksham striker Callum Kirkman to nip in and take the ball off a defender before slipping the ball into the net from a tight angle for 2-2. The point saw Swindon Supermarine increase their lead at the top of the table to two points from Calne Town with both sides having now played ten games. Highlights from this game can be viewed on Swindon Supermarine's TV channel.

Gillingham Town have now found their form in the division after a slow start and registered their third straight win with a 12-1 away victory at Trowbridge Town to move up to fifth place in the table. Those three games have seen Gillingham score 24 goals. Finlay Holm led the way at Trowbridge scoring four goals, including a first half hat-trick, both Charlie Watson and Caleb Pack scored twice with further goals coming through Daniel Dacombe, Daniel Yeatman, Thomas Gaylard and Luca Prescod-Toogood.

Roundup W/C 24 November

There were again four games played in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week and one of those games saw the last unbeaten record in the division fall, as Swindon Supermarine were defeated for the first time this season, going down 3-1 away against Wims 11 at Mangotsfield. The game on Monday night saw the two teams turn around at the break with the game still awaiting its first goal. However, the spectators didn’t have to wait long in the second half Okikiola Olawuyi putting Wims ahead within a minute of the restart after good work from Billy Wimble. Wimble then scored a goal of his own from the penalty spot, and an own goal then put Wims 3-0 ahead. There was to be a late goal for Swindon Supermarine deep into injury time, but it was nothing more than a consolation goal scored by the division’s leading scorer Alfie Telling who took his total for the season to 16. The defeat coupled with results elsewhere saw Swindon Supermarine lose their leadership of the division.

The new leaders of the division are Calne Town who made it four league wins on the bounce with a 6-0 home win over Kintbury Rangers  to move a point clear at the top of the table and takeover as the division’s leading scorers.  There were six different scorers on the night for Calne with Owen Jones, Jamie Heaton, Ruben Allaway, Ellis Lynch, Freddie Treacy and Kieran Kennedy all getting on the score sheet.

On Thursday night Amesbury Town  climbed up to fifth place in the table with a 6-1 away win over Trowbridge Town with Oliver Ford (2), Malick Dem, Tyler Fairclough, Charlie Creese and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh all amongst the goals for Amesbury, Kieran Harris-Southey with the Trowbridge Town reply.

Devizes Town are level on points with Amesbury after picking up their third win of the season, a narrow 2-1 victory over Gillingham Town at Green Lane on Monday night to complete a league double over Gillingham having defeated them 4-1 in the first meeting between the sides in the first week of the season. On target for Devizes were Lewis Hancox, with his fifth goal of the season and Morgan Selemani-Parker, Daniel Dacombe with the Gillingham goal. Whilst Devizes are level on points with Amesbury, they have played four more games and are the only side to have played all of their scheduled 12 games in what was Week 12 of the current season. Three other teams, leaders Calne Town, second placed Swindon Supermarine and Gillingham Town have reached the half-way point with their league fixtures, having played 11 games, whilst Wims meanwhile have played just six so far for various reasons and will have a busy second half to the season.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 1 December

There were four games played last week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with 26 goals scored across those four games.

Biggest scorers of the week were Swindon Supermarine who went back top of the table with a big 10-0 home win over Westbury United. The divisions top scorer Alfie Telling led the way adding five more to his impressive total which now stands at 21 goals, more than double the nearest challenger to his leadership of the goal scoring chart. Also on target for Supermarine were Shay Williams with two, Isaac Chalk, Anthony Gianni and Bailey Packer. The win saw Swindon Supermarine move two points clear at the top from Calne Town who saw their game at Gillingham Town  postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The other game postponed due to pitch conditions was Trowbridge Town’s scheduled game against Bishops Cannings.

Melksham Town continued their good start to the season with a 2-0 home win over Radstock Town, their sixth win in ten games that sees them sit in fourth place, nine points behind the leaders Swindon Supermarine but with two games in hand. On target for them in the 2-0 win were James Green and Ted Scott.

Devizes Town climbed one place in the table thanks to a 5-0 home win over Amesbury Town, who are the team they dislodged from fifth spot in the table. There was a hat-trick for Theo Drewitt in this one with the other two goals coming courtesy of Oscar Wall and Lewis Hancox.

Wims 11 are up to eighth spot following their fourth win of the season, a 7-2 home victory over Kintbury Rangers  which saw both Billy Wimble and Omaree Cox score hat-tricks with William Smith getting the other Wims goal, Silas Whitehead and Finlay Corcoran with the Kintbury Rangers two goals. Wims are 18 points behind leaders Swindon Supermarine but have five games in hand and look like they are going to have a big say in this season’s title race based on recent results.

Roundup W/C 8 December

The top two in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League increased their lead at the top of the table with victories on Thursday night, both winning for the tenth time this season. League leaders Swindon Supermarine scored four times without reply away at last season’s champions Radstock Town. Peter Dawson led the way scoring a hat-trick to double his total for the season with Isaac Chalk getting the other goal to take his total for the season to five.

It was a much tighter game for Calne Town in their fixture against Amesbury Town, but they eventually edged it by the odd goal, Charlie Hancock and Freddie Treacy scoring in the 2-1 win, Robert Vasiluca with the Amesbury Town goal.

The other winners in the week were Wims 11  who climbed up to sixth place in the table with a 5-1 away win at Westbury United with both Omaree Cox and Rudy Durand scoring twice for Wims, Nathan Nikoi-Appoh getting the other Wims goal with Liam Coles getting his second of the season in reply for Westbury. Whilst Wims are 18 points adrift of leaders Swindon Supermarine, they have five games in hand and after winning their last four games could well feature heavily in this season’s title race.

The other game played in the division this week was a high scoring draw between Kintbury Rangers and Gillingham Town the two sides sharing six goals and the points. On target for Kintbury were Stan Herdman and Bobby Canning, both scoring their fourth goals of the season, and Ashton Oram who registered his first goal of the season for the U18 side. The three goals in reply for Gillingham were scored by Harry Todd, Archie Appleby and Daniel Dacombe.

Sunday saw two of the division’s sides in action in the Wiltshire FA Youth Cup with mixed results. Calne Town found Swindon Supermarine’s South West Counties Youth League side too strong falling to an 8-0 defeat. However, Bishops Cannings are through to the semi-final stage, defeating Croft Junior Red 4-2 and will now be away to Salisbury U17 in that semi-final which is scheduled for Sunday 18th January 2026.

 Under 18 Floodlight Division
Roundup W/C 15 & 22 December

Just the one game was played in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League U18 Floodlight Division in the fortnight before Christmas as waterlogged pitches saw all other games postponed. The one game played saw in-form Wims 11 at home to bottom side Trowbridge Town. In a one-sided affair Wims 11 were 24-0 winners to move up to fifth place in the table.  Masood Garder led the way scored ten times, there were hat-tricks for Harry Bekoe and Okikola Olawuyi, Omaree Cox bagged a brace, two goals were own goals, with the other goals coming through William Smith, Nathan Nikoi-Appoh, Oliver Tucker and Noah Gray.

With half the division now into the second half of the season the league is starting to take shape with five teams looking like they will be involved in the race for honours. The current leaders are Swindon Supermarine who sit two points clear at the top of the table but have played more games than any other side in the division with just nine games to play.

Calne Town sit in second place with a game in hand over the leaders having won ten of their opening 12 league games. Their only defeats have come at the hands of leaders Swindon Supermarine and a surprise opening week defeat against Kintbury Rangers.

Bishops Cannings sit third in the table, ten points adrift of Swindon Supermarine, but with four games in hand mainly due to their cup run in the Wiltshire FA Youth Cup, could go top of the table if they won all those games in hand.

Melksham Town sit in fourth place, 12 points behind the leaders with three games in hand. With ten points dropped already with two defeats and two draws, they are the outsiders for the title now and if they are to mount a serious challenge for the title they can’t afford to drop too many more points.

The form team in the division are Wims 11 who have won five games in a row after that latest win against Trowbridge Town and with games in hand can move to within three points of leaders Swindon Supermarine if they win all their games in hand. They may come to rue the three points deducted for failing to fulfil a fixture come the final reckoning at the end of the season.

At the other end of the table Trowbridge Town have found their first season at this level very difficult but with a young side will be picking up experience which will be helpful for next season.

The U18 Division is normally the one that suffers the most with postponements, given the priority given to adult sides and the mainly Thursday night game night for the teams using grass pitches, and that is indeed the case this season in terms of percentage of games postponed, with 28 games postponed (30%). However, the good news is that there have been 14 more games played than last season at the same stage and the season is currently 49.2% complete, which is the best level of completion at this stage for many a season.

Roundup W/C 05 January

The weather played havoc with the U18 Floodlight Division last week with four league fixtures ending up being postponed and also a County Cup game. The County Cup game involved Radstock Town was then re-arranged for this coming Thursday, dislodging yet another league fixture even though the correspondence from the Somerset FA indicates that this is supposed to be a Sunday cup competition. The matter is currently under review by the league with the Wiltshire FA who have oversight of our U18 Floodlight Division.

The two games that were played both involved one of the top two teams in the division but saw two very contrasting games. On a cold Monday night on the 3G pitch at Green Lane a solitary goal from Ruben Allaway, his third of the campaign,  saw Calne Town defeat Bishops Cannings to move temporarily above Swindon Supermarine into top spot.

However, on Thursday night Swindon Supermarine moved back top of the table with an emphatic 15-0 win over Trowbridge Town. The division’s leading scorer Alfie Telling added four more goals to his tally taking his total for the season to 25, Mauricio Perciavalle scored twice with Xavier Beczek, Isaac Chalk, Liam Clark, Peter Dawson, Bailey Packer, Jander Santos and Shay Williams also getting on the score sheet, with two own goals completing the goal tally. Swindon Supermarine are back one point ahead of Calne Town but having played one game more than their main title rivals.

Roundup W/C 12 January

The weather once again played havoc with the fixtures in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League this week with just the game getting the go ahead. The one game played was at Green Lane on Monday night and it saw Swindon Supermarine extend their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 3-1 away win over Devizes Town. On target for the league leaders were Xavier Beczak, Kacper Mielewczuk and Bailey Packer with his fifth of the season, a second of the season from Ollie Charles in reply for Devizes Town. Whilst Supermarine have a five-point lead at the top second placed Calne Town in second spot have two games in hand with the two sides set to meet at Bremhill View next Thursday in a game that could go a long way to deciding the destination of the title this season.

All the other scheduled games this week were postponed. Unfortunately, this week’s postponements included once again the Somerset County Youth Cup game between Radstock Town and Bridgwater Town with the game possibly being scheduled for next Thursday meaning it would then not impact Radstock’s League game scheduled for Monday night at Devizes.

With so many games being postponed in the first few weeks of the calendar year the League Cup may yet have to be pushed back to later in the season to ensure league games get played. The Under 18 Floodlight Division now has the worst postponement record of any of the seven divisions with 36.4% of the games that have been scheduled being postponed by clubs.

Roundup W/C 19 January

The weather once again played havoc with the fixtures in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League this week. As was the case last week, all but one of the fixtures was postponed due to waterlogged pitches, including the scheduled top of the table clash between Calne Town and Swindon Supermarine.

The one game played was again at Green Lane on Monday night and it saw Devizes Town return to winning ways with a 4-2 home victory over Radstock Town. Theo Drewitt led the way bagging his tenth and eleventh goals of the season with Lewis Hancox and Caelon Whyte getting the other two Devizes goals.

Once again the only game that got played in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week was the game on the 3G pitch at Green Lane, Devizes. The game that went ahead was the Devizes derby where Devizes Town’s opponents were the club they share the use of Green Lane with, Bishops Cannings. When the two sides had met at the start of the season Bishops Cannings ran out 3-1 winners and on Monday night they completed a league double over their near neighbours, goals from Joseph Fallon and Tom Sharples, one in each half, securing a 2-0 win. The three points for Bishops Cannings consolidated their third place position in the league table. They are now eight points behind second placed Calne Town but with two games in hand, and 13 points adrift of leaders Swindon Supermarine but with four games in hand and are still very much involved in the title race. David Giles was at the game with his camera and pictures from the match can be found on the League Facebook Group Page.

All of the other five scheduled fixtures were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Roundup W/C 2 February

Once again the wet weather had a major impact on the fixture schedule in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with all four games scheduled to be on grass pitches being postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

In the end just the two games on 3G pitches went ahead. On Monday night at Green Lane Wims 11, who are behind with their fixtures, continued their recent good run winning their sixth straight game, winning 3-1 away at Bishops Cannings. Two goals from Omaree Cox, taking him onto 12 for the season, and one from Heiko Skeete secured the three points for Wims, Bishops Cannings getting their goal from the penalty spot through Jack Spanswick with his tenth goal of the season.

On Thursday night Swindon Supermarine were playing their penultimate home league game of the season, and it was to be another successful night for the league leaders, although they were made to work hard for the three points by Gillingham Town. Goals from Anthony Gianni and a 26th goal of the season from the division’s leading scorer Alfie Telling saw Supermarine win 2-1, Daniel Yeatman with the Gillingham goal. The win for Supermarine saw them open up an eight-point lead at the top of the table but they have played more games than all the four sides immediately below them in the table.

Roundup W/C 9 February

Another week of where the only action in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League was on a 3G pitch, with the only game to go ahead being Monday night’s encounter at Green Lane between Bishops Cannings and Melksham Town. The other four scheduled games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches meaning 28 of the last 36 scheduled fixtures in the Division have been postponed due to the weather. 61 of the 134 scheduled fixtures this season have been postponed (45.5%) and with the division at a completion level of just 55.3% is now the worst performing division of the seven across the various categories of the League.

The one game that did go ahead saw Bishops Cannings return to winning ways as two goals from Joseph Fallon and one from Jack Spanswick gave them a 3-1 home win over Melksham Town, Callum Kirkman with the Melksham Town goal. The win for Bishops Cannings saw them close the gap to the top two, they are now 13 points adrift of leaders Swindon Supermarine with three games in hand.

Amesbury Town who were 3-1 winners over Wims 11 on Thursday night

A somewhat better week in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with three games played although, frustratingly Radstock Town were unable to raise a side for their game away at Wims 11 on 3G, wasting a hard-to-get pitch booking. After all the postponements due to the weather, plus several postponements by Radstock due to County Cup fixtures, this was extremely frustrating.

Two of the three games that were played both had an impact on this season’s title race. On Monday night league leaders Swindon Supermarine fell to their second defeat of the season, losing 3-1 away at Bishops Cannings. Two more goals for Jack Spanswick, who took his total for the season to 13, plus one from Bailey Penney secured the three points for Bishops Cannings, Isaac Chalk with the Swindon Supermarine reply. The win for Bishops Cannings sees them remain in third spot two points behind Calne Town and also saw them move to within ten points of the league leaders with three games in hand in what is developing into an exciting title race.

The other game on Monday night saw a comfortable win at home for Kintbury Rangers over Trowbridge Town. After a blistering first half Kintbury led 6-0 at the break but a much improved second half performance from the visitors limited Kintbury to just one more goal as it finished 7-0 to Kintbury. Stanley Herdman helped himself to a hat-trick, Bobby Canning bagged a brace and there were further goals from Harry Stewart and Daniel Wyles.

Wims 11 title ambitions suffered a blow on Thursday night when they fell to a defeat at Amesbury Town. Credit to Amesbury for switching the game to a 3G pitch at Bulford to enable the game against Wims to go ahead, especially after Wims had seen that game on Monday night postponed by Radstock Town. Amesbury led 1-0 at the break thanks to a second goal of the season from Toby Cooper. It remained that way until 15 minutes from time when Brandon Crofts doubled Amesbury’s lead and when Daniel Smullen added a third three minutes from time the home side knew the victory was theirs. There was still time for one more goal though, Noah Gray scoring a last-minute consolation goal for Wims. The defeat for Wims, coupled with the defeat of Swindon Supermarine on Monday night, means every side has now lost two games, with Calne Town the side with the fewest points dropped at this stage of the season.

This coming week sees four games in the First Round of the U18 League Cup and hopefully the improved weather will allow all four to go ahead.

Top 3 All Lose in League Cup

Under 18 Floodlight Division League Cup

This week saw the First Round of the U18 League Cup and with one exception it was to prove to be a week of cup shocks as all of the top three in the league went out of the competition at the first hurdle. League leaders and cup holders Swindon Supermarine were home to Wims 11 and for the third time this season Supermarine failed to get the better of their opponents. The two sides had drawn 1-1 when they met at the start of the season and in the return league game at Mangotsfield Wims had won 3-1. On Thursday night they completed a league and cup double with a 4-2 away win thanks to goals from Jasper Woodford, Nathan Nikoi-Appoh, Billy Wimble and an own goal, whilst the Supermarine reply came through Bailey Packer and Harry Priest.

The action had got underway on Monday night when second in the table Calne Town had travelled into Berkshire to play Kintbury Rangers. When the two sides had met in their opening league fixture of the season Kintbury had won 2-1, one of only two league defeats Calne have suffered so far this season. Since that game Calne have gone on a good run winning 11 of the 12 subsequent league games, whilst Kintbury have struggled, winning just three more in the league. However, on Monday night they once again got the better of Calne, goals from Oliver Hall and Ryan Hutchings giving them a 2-1-win, Alexander Greenouff with the Calne Town goal.

Third placed Bishops Cannings also fell at the first hurdle, losing 4-2 away at Melksham Town on Thursday night. Callum Kirkman was the star of the show for Melksham scoring a hat-trick, with Rueben Church getting the other Melksham goal, Joseph Fallon getting both the Bishops Cannings goals.

The one game that went to form was Amesbury Town’s 7-0 away win over Trowbridge Town with Trowbridge yet to register a point so far this season. Jack Pearce scored a hat-trick for Amesbury with further goals from Ousman Camara, Alfie Pawlak-Walsh, Stanislaw Lebedzki and an own goal.

The draw for the Quarter Finals has been made by League Chairman Brian Busson and League Secretary Jim Thorn and it sees Wims 11 home to Devizes Town, Kintbury Rangers away to Westbury United, Melksham Town away to Radstock Town with the final tie seeing Amesbury Town set to entertain Gillingham Town with the ties set to take place in week commencing 16th March.

Just one of the two scheduled league games went ahead with the game between Radstock Town and Gillingham Town postponed.

The one game that did go ahead saw Devizes Town record a comfortable 8-1 away win at Westbury United to move up to fourth place in the table. Theo Drewitt led the way scoring a hat-trick to take his total for the season to 14, Oliver Ford bagged a brace with further goals from Oliver Charles, Morgan Selemani-Parker and Callum Nott.

Top 3 All Return To Winning Ways

After the top three all crashed out of the League Cup last week all three returned to winning ways this past week on their return to league action to leave it as you were at the top end of the table in terms of positioning.

League leaders Swindon Supermarine maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the table with 3-2 away win at Melksham Town thanks to goals from Miguel Pedro, Mauricio Perciavalle and Nathan Evans, Callum Kirkman getting both Melksham Town goals.

Meanwhile Calne Town continue to be the side with the fewest dropped points after a 2-0 home win over Wims II, one of the other sides in contention for honours this season,a lthough WIms best chance for honours now looks to be in the League Cup. Goals from Owen Jones and Kieran Kennedy secured the points for Calne who, whilst trailing Supermarine by those eight points, have four games in hand over the leaders.

Bishops Cannings remain two points behind Calne after they returned from Westbury United with all three points following a 4-1 win, William Harris getting the Westbury goal.

Devizes Town consolidated their fourth-place position in the table with a narrow 3-2 win over Kintbury Rangers on the 3G at Green Lane on Monday night. On target for Devizes were Oliver Charles, Theo Drewitt and Lewis Hancox, Ryan Hutchings and Kevin Ventura with the Kintbury goals.

The other game saw Radstock Town return home with all three points following a 3-2 win away at Amesbury Town, Jack Pearce amongst the goals for Amesbury.

Top Two Both Win Again

The top two sides in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League both won last week to leave matters as you were at the top of the table.  League leaders Swindon Supermarine edged a tight affair against Bishops Cannings by the odd goal in seven, Kaden Bromyard, Isaac Chalk, Antoni Dulik and Miguel Pedro scoring for Supermarine in their 4-3 win. On target for Bishops Cannings were Jack Spanswick with two, taking his total for the season to 15, and Max Raczak.

Calne Town kept on the heels of leaders Supermarine with a 5-1 away win over Devizes Town with Alex Greenouff continuing his recent goal scoring form, helping himself to a hat-trick with Owen Jones and Archy Simpkins getting the other two Calne Town goals, Callum Nott with the Devizes Town reply. The win for Calne sees them still trail Supermarine by eight points with four games in hand.

The other game played saw Gillingham Town return from Mangotsfield with all three points after a 3-2 away win over Wims 11. Noah Gray fired Wims ahead, but Daniel Dacombe levelled matters up and the teams turned around at the break with the scores level. Charles Davies then put Gillingham ahead for the first time in the game seven minutes after the restart. Omaree Cox brought Wims back level 14 minutes from time but Gillingham immediately got themselves back in front within a minute of that Wims goal, Lewis Pack scoring what proved to be the winning goal. This coming week sees a mix of league and cup games.

All Square in Top of the Table Clash

Last week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League saw a mix of league and cup games played.

In the league the big game at the top of the table saw Calne Town entertain leaders Swindon Supermarine. Going into the game Swindon Supermarine held an eight-point lead over their opponents. That differential remains unchanged after the two sides fought out a 1-1 draw, Bailey Packer getting the Swindon Supermarine goal and Owen Jones scoring for Calne Town. Supermarine have just two games to go, both away from home, whereas Calne Town have six games still to play, starting this Thursday night when they host Westbury United.

Third placed Bishops Cannings closed the gap to the top two with a comfortable 7-0 away win at bottom of the table Trowbridge Town on Wednesday night. Star of the show was Kory Wildman who scored a hat-trick, Jack Spanswick bagged a brace to take his total for the season to 17, with further goals from Thomas Thomas and Aaron Waldron.

Melksham Town moved up to fourth place with a six-point haul from their games against Amesbury Town and Radstock Town. On Monday night two goals from Callum Kirkman and one apiece for Darul Jones and Billy Burton saw them defeat Amesbury Town 4-2 at Oakfields, Marvin Acheampong and Jack Pearce getting the two in reply for Amesbury. Melksham followed this up on Wednesday with a 3-0 away win at Radstock Town, Oscar Hall scoring twice and Letrell Flower with the other Melksham goal. Whilst 22 points adrift of league leaders Swindon Supermarine, Melksham have six games in hand and still have eight league games to play, plus they also remain involved in the League Cup.

In addition to the league games two games were played in the League Cup and one tie awarded when Devizes Town failed to raise a side for their trip to Wims 11 giving Wims a free pass into the semi-final.

Kintbury Rangers join them in those semi-finals after a comfortable 5-1 away win over Westbury United. The goals were shared around the team with Harry Joyce, Fin Corcoran, Silas Whitehead, Bobby Canning and Charlie Millar all finding the back of the net.

It was a much tighter affair in the other League Cup quarter final tie between Amesbury Town and visitors Gillingham Town. At the end of 90 minutes the two sides could not be separated both scoring twice meaning penalties would be needed to settle matters. It was Gillingham who held their nerve to win the shootout 3-1 to progress to the last four. The goalscorers in normal time for the two sides were Brandon Crofts and Jack Pearce for Amesbury Town and Harry Todd and Archie Appleby for Gillingham Town.

Calne Town Close Gap To Leaders

It was a busy week in the under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week with six games played across the week. With league leaders Swindon Supermarine without a game, it was an opportunity for the other sides in the league to seek to play catch up with their fixtures and erode the gap at the top of the table.  Second placed Calne Town took full advantage recording a comfortable 7-1 home win over Westbury United. On target for Calne Town where Ellis Lynch with two, Owen Jones, Freddie Treacy, Ruben Allaway, Charlie Hancock and Archie Snoddy, the one goal in reply for Westbury United was scored by Harley-Joe Closman, with what was his second goal of the week. Earlier in the week Westbury United had picked up a useful point away at Kintbury Rangers following a 1-1 draw, bouncing back from the 5-1 defeat they had suffered at the hands of the same opponents in the League Cup the previous week, Louis Philbey with the Kintbury Rangers goal and Harley-Joe Closman scoring for Westbury.

Third placed Bishops Cannings also had a big win, doing a quick fire double over Trowbridge Town winning 9-1 on the 3G pitch at Green Lane. Oliver Holbrook led the way with a hat-trick with further goals coming from Sebastian Kent, Max Raczek, Jack Spanswick, Thomas Thomas, Joseph Fallon and Thomas Buckle, with the consolation goal for Trowbridge coming through Joseph Withey.

It was a good week for Wims 11 who picked up six points from their two fixtures with wins on both Monday night and Thursday evening. On Monday at Mangotsfield two goals from Billy Wimble plus one from Masood Garder secured a 3-1 win over Devizes Town.

Wims 11 followed that up on Thursday night to with a hard fought 2-0 away win at Gillingham Town to move above Melksham Town into fourth spot in the table. Billy Wimble was once again amongst the goals for the visitors taking his total for the season to 12, with Nathan Nikoi-Appoh also finding the back of the net.

After the three consecutive defeats Amesbury Town returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home win over Melksham Town avenging the 4-2 defeat they had suffered at the hands of the same opponents in their last league outing. The all-important goal in this one was scored by Brandon Crofts with his fourth goal of the season.

It is another busy week again this coming week with seven fixtures set to take place.

 U18 Roundup W/C 30 March
Another Busy Week

It was another busy week in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with seven games scheduled and all played in the division as teams played catch-up with their fixtures.

It was to prove a good week for Trowbridge Town as their side registered their first win of the season in what has been a difficult campaign for the side playing their inaugural season under the lights at Woodmarsh. Goals from Kieran Harris-Southey and Chambalyn Inegbenose saw Trowbridge defeat Westbury United 2-1 on Monday night in front of a sizeable Woodmarsh crowd, Alfie Edgington with the goal for visitors Westbury United.

The same night a solitary goal from Billy Wimble was enough to give Wims 11 a narrow 1-0 win away at Kintbury Rangers, that is now 13 for the season for Wimble.

The third game on Monday evening saw Bishops Cannings maintain their quest for honours with a 5-1 home win on the 3G at Green Lane over Gillingham Town. Two more goals for Jack Spanswick in this one saw the Bishops Cannings striker take his total for the season to 20, with the other Bishops Cannings goals coming through Tom Sharples, Joseph Fallon and Oliver Holbrook, the latter moving into double figures for the season. A second of the season from Charles Davies with the Gillingham Town goal.

There were then four games played on Thursday night including Calne Town’s visit to Gillingham Town where Calne kept their title challenge on track in a high scoring game. Two goals from both Alexander Greenouff and Archy Simpkins helped Calne to an 8-3 win, the other goals coming through Ruben Allaway, Owen Jones, Joseph Reynolds and Freddie Treacy, Thomas Gaylard amongst the goals for Gillingham Town. The win for Calne saw them move to within two points of leaders Swindon Supermarine with two games in hand.

Kintbury Rangers bounced back from that defeat on Monday night against Wims picking up three points away at Melksham Town courtesy of a 2-1 win, Kevin Ventura and Jayden Jamieson with their first goals of the season for Kintbury, Oscar Hall with the Melksham Town goal.

Amesbury Town continued their good home form this season with win number six on home turf, goals from Harry Chandler, Jack Martin and a sixth of the season from Alfie Pawlak-Walsh securing a 3-0 win over Westbury United to move to within three points of sixth place Devizes Town, with Amesbury having five games in hand over the side just above them in the table.

Radstock Town recorded win number four of the season on Thursday, goals from Freddy Cue and Jamie Gardiner giving them a 2-0 home win over an improving Trowbridge Town side.

 U18 Roundup W/C 6 April
Good Week For Melksham Town

It was another good week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League as all five scheduled games were played with a couple of teams once again playing two games in the week to play catch-up with the fixtures postponed during the awful wet months at the start of the calendar year.

It was to prove to be a good week for Melksham Town who picked up a maximum six points from their two games. On Monday night they were involved in high scoring encounter away at Westbury United, Melksham eventually edging it by the odd goal in nine to claim the three points. Kieran Higdon led the way scoring twice with the other Melksham goals coming through Callum Kirkman, Oliver Montgomery and Reuben Church. The four Westbury goals were scored by Harry Matthews with two, Izacc Pritchard-Hanna and William Bendall.

Melksham Town followed that victory with another on Thursday night against Devizes Town. Whilst it was another close affair on this occasion there were a lot less goals, with Melksham just grabbing the one through Oscar Hall to record their second win of the week. The two wins for Melksham saw them move above Wims 11 in the table into fourth spot.

Westbury United also played a second game in the week with another home game on Thursday night where a penalty from Edison Poole gave them a share of the points with a 1-1 draw against Radstock Town, Ashley Thomas with the Radstock goal.

The same night there was a high scoring game at Gillingham Town where Amesbury Town were the visitors. With Amesbury leading 3-2 as the game moved into its final moments thanks to goals from Ousman Camara, Marvin Acheampong and Alfie Pawlak-Walsh, Gillingham Town grabbed a last gasp equaliser from James Barcay with his second of the game to share the points. The other Gillingham goal was scored by Jack Hinchliffe.

Trowbridge Town recorded their second victory of the season on Wednesday night with a 3-0 home success over Kintbury Rangers thanks to goals from Jedial Nyikadzino, Kieran Harris-Southey and Joseph Withey. Unfortunately due to postponements earlier in the season when they were unable to raise a side any points gained have been removed by the Discipline Committee.

Supermarine Extend Lead,
Kintbury Rangers into Cup Final

There was a mixture of league and cup action in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League this week. On Monday night Kintbury Rangers and Amesbury Town shared two goals and the points following a 1-1 draw, Kevin Ventura getting the Kintbury goal with a fifth goal of the season from Brandon Crofts for Amesbury. The draw left both teams where they started the night in the league table, with Amesbury in seventh spot with Kintbury Rangers one place below in eighth spot.

Unfortunately, the scheduled game between Wims 11 and Westbury United was postponed due to pitch unavailability.

On Wednesday night Devizes Town became the first team in the division to complete their fixtures with a 3-2 win away at Trowbridge Town who have been much more competitive in the back end of the season following their change of manager. In the end goals from Ben Charles, Kye Stockman and a 15th of the season from Theo Drewitt were enough to give Devizes the three points to end their season on a winning note. The two goals for Trowbridge were scored by Hobie Jones and Junior Gweshe.

After a long break whilst others played catch-up with their fixtures Swindon Supermarine finally saw some action on Thursday night and showed no signs of rustiness as they extended their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 3-1 away win at Amesbury Town. There were two goals for Miguel Pedro and one for Bailey Packer, with Jack Pearce getting the Amesbury Town reply. Swindon Supermarine now have just the one game to play, away to Kintbury Rangers a week on Monday.  The win for Swindon Supermarine guaranteed them at least runners-up spot but they can still be caught by Calne Town who have four games still to play and trail Supermarine by those five points.

In addition to the three league games there were also two games in the League Cup on Thursday night. The final quarter final tie between Melksham Town and Radstock Town was held at Melksham, and it say a close encounter with the teams all level at 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes meaning penalties would be needed to settle matters. In the shootout it was Radstock who held their nerve, winning the shootout to progress to the semi-final against Wims 11 which is set to take place next week. On target for Melksham in normal time were Ted Scott and Felix Scott, with Freddy Cue and Tommy Nairn getting the Radstock goals.

The other game in the cup was the first of the two semi-final ties between Gillingham Town and Kintbury Rangers. The game itself went the way of Kintbury, goals from Fin Corcoran, Stan Herdman and Bobby Cannings giving them a 3-1 win, James Barclay with the Gillingham goal. Unfortunately, there were once again reports of misbehaviour by Kintbury supporters, which is not the first time this season that has happened, which are now with the Berks & Bucks FA.

Calne Title Hopes Dealt A Blow,
Wims 11 into Cup Final

There were just four games played last week in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League. On Monday night Calne Town’s title ambitions suffered a setback when they lost heavily away at Wims 11. Two goals from Billy Wimble and one apiece from Omaree Cox, Noah Gray, Rudy Durans, Riyad Kamaly and Masood Garder saw Wims II win 7-1, to inflict on Calne Town their heaviest defeat of the season in the league. Despite the defeat have still dropped the least number of points so far this season but with three games left to play they still trail Swindon Supermarine by five points, with Supermarine having just the one game still to play.

The same night Melksham Town picked up their eleventh league win of the season with a 2-0 away success at Trowbridge Town thanks to goals from Kieran Higdon and Billy Burton. Having won the earlier fixture against the same opponents 12-1 shows how much Trowbridge Town have improved in the second half of the season which bodes well for next season.

The third game played on Monday night was at Westbury United where the home side picked up only their second victory of the season, a 2-1 win over Amesbury Town.

There was then one game played on Thursday night with the second semi-final in the U18 League Cup and it proved to be a good week for Wims 11 as they followed that big win over Calne Town on Monday night with a 3-1 win over Radstock Town. The two teams turned around all square at the break at 1-1 but two unanswered second half goals for Wims 11 mean it is they who will be in the final. Two more goals for Billy Wimble and one for Masood Garder did the damage for Wims, Harry Grimsey with the Radstock reply. The planned date for the final is Thursday 7th May at Devizes Town, but it may need to be delayed if the investigations by the Berks & Bucks FA into issues with the earlier semi-final are not concluded quickly.

Calne Go Top With Two Wins,

Wims 11 & Gillingham Also Win Twice

It was a busy week in the U18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League with seven games played.

It would prove to be a good week for Calne Town who won twice in the week to move top of the table with one game to play, a home fixture this coming Thursday against bottom of the table Trowbridge Town where a win will see them crowned as champions. They set up that scenario with a 7-0 win away at Radstock Town on the Monday night which they then followed up on Thursday with a narrow 2-1 home win over Melksham Town. On the Monday night two goals from both Charlie Hancock and Ruben Allaway plus further strikes from Alexander Greenouff, Lawson Mears and Archie Snoddy did the damage for Calne. On Thursday evening Calne scored one of the quickest goals you will ever see to go 1-0 up against Melksham Town but Oscar Hall levelled matters up for Melksham. Just as it looked like it would be two points dropped Calne scored a late winner to take the three points and move top of the table with that one game to play. On target for Calne were Charlie Hancock, for what was his third goal of the week, and Kieran Kennedy.

It was also to prove to be a good week for Wims 11 and Billy Wimble in particular. On the Tuesday evening Wimble scored six times for Wims in their 7-0 victory over Amesbury Town, Harry Bekoe with the other goal. Wims then followed that up on Thursday night with another seven-goal result, defeating Trowbridge Town 7-1 away at Woodmarsh. There were another four goals for Billy Wimble, Omaree Cox bagged a brace with Nathan Nikoi-Appoh getting the other Wims goal, Jack Amor with the consolation goal for Trowbridge Town.

Another side winning two games in the week were Gillingham Town. On Monday night they registered a 5-1 home win over Melksham Town with leading scorer Thomas Gaylard scoring twice with the other goals coming through Lewis Pack, Robert Hollick and Lucas Prescod-Toogood, Theo Griffiths with the Melksham Town goal. They followed this up on Thursday night with another home win, defeating Westbury United 4-0, two goals for both Daniel Dacombe and Finley Holm in this one.

The final game played in the week saw Amesbury Town win 3-0 away at Radstock Town. First half goals from Dion Parrett and Hugo Drury-Smith gave Amesbury a 2-0 half time lead and a third from Charlie Crease 20 minutes from time rounded off the night's scoring.

Calne Town Crowned League Champions

U18 Floodlight Division Champions Season 2025-26 - Calne Town

The four games played this week in the Under 18 Floodlight Division of the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League last week included the match which saw Calne Town secure the league championship title for the first time. On Thursday night they entertained bottom side Trowbridge Town knowing that victory would see them crowned as champions for Season 2025-26. It was to prove a comfortable evening for the home side as they scored ten goals without reply to make sure of the title. Three players, Owen Jones, Jamie Heaton and Kieran Kennedy all scored twice and there were further goals from Alex Greenouff, Ruben Allaway and Freddie Treacy. Congratulations to Calne Town on their title success. The league winner’s trophy and individual medals for the players were presented to Calne following the game by League Chairman Brian Busson.

Bishops Cannings moved to within two points of second placed Swindon Supermarine with two wins in the week. On Monday night they finished their home fixtures at Green Lane with a 3-0 win over Amesbury Town thanks to goals from Nathan Balinksi, Jack Spanswick and Tom Sharples.

They followed this win up with another two days later, returning from Radstock Town with all three points following a 4-2 away win. Jack Spanswick was once again amongst the goals helping himself to a hat-trick to take his tally for the season to 27, Kory Wildman with the other Bishops Cannings goal, Tommy Nairn with both the Radstock goals.  The win for Bishops Cannings took them to 49 points and both they and Supermarine have one unplayed game, with both still to play Kintbury Rangers who are currently suspended pending the outcome of an FA investigation into events at their cup semi-final with Gillingham Town. Hopefully the league will hear something from the FA next week regarding the outcome of their investigations and whether any sanctions are to be applied. As to whether outstanding games, including the cup final, will get played remains uncertain.

Wims 11 were scheduled to play two games in the week but in the end only their away game at Melksham Town on Monday night went ahead. It was to be a winning night for Wims as two goals from Billy Wimble gave his side the points in a 2-0 win, taking his total for the season to 29 and continued leadership of the goal scoring chart. Their scheduled game against Westbury United on Thursday night did not go ahead due to the lateness of securing a pitch for the game, the second time this has happened with this particular fixture in the past month. Again as to whether this game gets played with exams having started in uncertain and it is up to the two clubs to come up with a solution.

Gillingham & Trowbridge Complete Their Games

The U18 Floodlight Division edged closer to completion with both Gillingham Town and Trowbridge Town playing their final games of the season, in the case of Gillingham this involved games on both Tuesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday night Gillingham Town travelled to Radstock Town for a game that had been rearranged between the clubs, with Radstock originally scheduled by the league to also be playing on the Monday away to Wims 11. However, Radstock became the latest side to fail to travel to play Wims and that game was awarded to Wims by the Discipline Committee. The game that Radstock did play saw them fall to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Gillingham. A Caleb Pack goal set Gillingham on their way and a second from Thomas Gaylard three minutes before the break put the visitors in command. Two goals early in the second half from Daniel Dacombe made sure of the points for Gillingham.

Gillingham Town followed this 4-0 win on Tuesday night with another 4-0 win two days later, their opponents on this occasion being Trowbridge Town, with both sides playing their final game of the season. Once again first half goals from Caleb Pack and Thomas Gaylard, the latter taking his total for the season to 11, put Gillingham on track for their ninth win of the season. Joseph Terry then extended their lead just after the hour mark with his first goal of the season and James Barclay concluded the scoring with a fourth Gillingham goal five minutes from time.

This now leaves five league fixtures to complete the league season, four involving Kintbury Rangers who remain suspended for the time being, with their cup final against Wims 11 also currently on hold. The game still to be played is then the game between Wims and Westbury United where the League wait to see if the two clubs can agree a date to play their outstanding game, although with exam season started there is a chance this will not be played. The Berks & Bucks FA notified the League in midweek that the case involving Kintbury Rangers is awaiting a hearing with the FA’s Serious Case Panel at Wembley.
