Club Notes
After two seasons in the new Wiltshire County League Avebury entered a reserve side as well, transferring their side from the Swindon & District League (see separate entry for notes on Avebury’s first team and additional club history).

The initial three seasons spent in Division 4 were seasons of continuous improvement. After finishing just below midway in their first season they climbed up to fifth spot the following season, finishing level on points with South Marston in fourth spot but with an inferior goal average.

Season 1980-81 saw them achieve their first honours in the league. As the season drew to a close they led the way but were eventually pipped to the title by Durrington Sports and had to settle for runners-up spot and promotion to Division 3 for the following season.

Season 1981-82 saw them cope well with life at the higher level, finishing in sixth place behind five strong Swindon sides. In that first season they had certainly sent a message that they were a force to be reckoned with in the top Junior division. However, the next season was to be the pinnacle of their time in the league as they took the Division 3 title, finishing four points clear of Calne Town Reserves. As can sometimes happen when a title is won, the momentum could not be maintained and Avebury Reserves had a much tougher season in 1983-84, slipping to 12th place in the table.  It was to get worse the following season as they finished bottom of the table, winning just three of their thirty fixtures, and exiting the two cup competitions early. At the end of the season the club took the decision to withdraw the reserve team from the league.

By Season 1992-93 the club had changed its name to Plessey Avebury and then during that season they became Avebury Park. They re-entered a reserve side in Division 4 of the league but there was to be no happy return. During February 1993 the Wiltshire County Football Association had reason to withdraw the affiliation of the club, so their record was expunged along with that of their first team.
