Club Notes
Formed in 2012 Bassett Bulldogs started life in Division 1 of the Swindon & District League, finishing in fourth place in the table in their first season. Two eight place finishes in the next two seasons did not indication that the Bulldogs would soon be playing Senior level football but Season 2015-16 was to be the start of a progression that would see them move up to the Premier Division of the Swindon & District League and then the Wiltshire League a season later. A third-place finish behind Swindon Spitfires and Swindon Centurians Spectrum in Division 1 in Season 2015-16 was enough to secure a Premier Division place in the District League. They also picked up their first silverware as they lifted the George Thomas/Don Rogers Cup, defeating DJC Marlborough 4-2 in the final.

Their one and only season in the Premier Division of the Swindon & District League saw them again finish in third place as they adapted well to life at a higher level, although they finished 21 points adrift of champions Tawny Owl. A top three position is good enough for promotion if neither of the top two wish to seek promotion, and with Tawny Owl and Deers Leap not seeking promotion, Bassett Bulldogs made the brave decision to play Senior level football in Season 2017-18. They also ended this spell in the Swindon & District League with another cup final, this time in the Advertiser Cup but suffered the heartbreak of an extra time defeat to FC Dorcan, 3-1 the final score.

Their one season in the Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division was to prove a tough baptism to Senior football and they struggled from the start. Whilst a narrow 1-0 defeat in their opening game against Pewsey Vale Dev and a 2-1 midweek win over a young Bremhill side offered encouragement, two heavy defeats against eventual champions Kintbury Rangers, firstly in the league and then in the cup, coupled with a 12-0 defeat against Melksham Town Reserves clearly indicated that Bassett Bulldogs would be in for a tough season. The Melksham result was not the biggest defeat of the season that came in the Wiltshire Senior Cup when Southern League Salisbury hit 13 without reply. Bulldogs were to win just one more game all season, that came in December when they secured a narrow 1-0 win at home against Trowbridge Town. Two games were drawn against Devizes Town Reserves and Marlborough Town but at the end of the season a two-point deduction for failing to fulfil a fixture meant they ended on just six points for the season. Scoring goals was a problem all season as they failed to score in 19 of their 32 league fixtures, neither of their two cup games and scored just 18 in the other 13 league games. Striker Jason Hudson, who had been their top scorer in the two previous seasons before joining the Wiltshire League, scored half of that 18-goal total.

After such a tough season Bassett Bulldogs not surprisingly opted to return to the Swindon & District League but went into Division 2, the bottom division, rather than back into the Premier Division of the District League. Even so they were to endure another tough season as they finished second from bottom.

Season 2019-20 saw them in Division 1 of the Swindon & District League as the league reduced down to two larger divisions. At the time of suspension of football due to the Coronavirus Bassett Bulldogs were having a much better season and sat in third spot in the table with games in hand over of the top two sides.
