Bishops Cannings Football Club was founded by Kevin Halpin, Neil and Shelly Lawes in 2004. Initially the club had just enough players to form one U10 team.
The team played their games on the football field at Bishops Cannings school. Within a short time, numbers started to grow, and the club were able to register two teams with the Mid Wilts League.
For a short while, the club moved to a field adjacent to the New Inn at Coate until they outgrew it and moved to Green Lane in Devizes. As each year goes by, the club has grown to be able to support multiple age groups starting as young as U5s.
Season 2022-23 saw them enter an Under 18 team in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League for the first time with the majority of the team being the successful Devizes Town side that did the league and cup double in Season 2021-22. The club is also entering an adult side in the Trowbridge & District League for the first time and they decided to join Division One of the Wiltshire Senior League for the start of Season 2023-24.
Season 2024-25 now sees them enter a Veterans' side for the first time based, like their other sides, out of the Wiltshire FA Headquarters at Green Lane. The newly formed side were to finish bottom of the table, not helped by Chippenham's late withdrawal from the league and saved their best performances for the Wiltshire County Cup which saw them knockout a strong Durrington side who were competing for the league title, Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Westbury United on their way to the semi-final. In that semi-final they lost on penalties to ExIntel after it had finished 0-0.
