Club Notes
Six years after Down Ampney entered their first team in the league, the club also entered a reserve side to coincide with their first team achieving Intermediate status (see separate entry for details of Down Ampney first team).

Prior to joining the Wiltshire League Down Ampney Reserves had been in the Cirencester & District League. Down Ampney Reserves first league honours were achieved in Season 1984-85 when they finished runners-up to Southrop Reserves in Division 3 of the Cirencester & District League. Four years later they picked up their first league title when they won Division 2 to gain promotion to Division 1. They also made the final of the Cirencester Junior Charities Cup, losing in the final to Northleach Reserves. At some stage they must have been relegated back to Division 2 as they again won the Division 2 title in Season 1993-94, losing just one of their twenty-two games as they stormed to the title.

The next four seasons saw them playing in Division 1 of the Cirencester & District League. A tenth-place finish in Season 1994-95 was followed by two sixth place finishes in the next two seasons. Their final season before joining the Wiltshire League saw them again finish in the top half of the table as they secured seventh spot.

Season 1998-99 saw them step up to Division 4 of the Wiltshire League as their first team joined the Intermediate Division. They settled in well to their higher status by achieving an impressive fourth place finish in their first season. The y finished in mid-table in their second season but endured a much tougher season in Season 2000-2001, finishing third from bottom and some 15 points below the team above them.

Season 2001-2 saw the two junior divisions combine and despite the influx of stronger sides it was a much improved Down Ampney Reserves performance as finished in fifth place in a division of 18 teams. The following season was to be their last in the league as their first team returned to Junior status. That final season saw an 11th place finish.

With their first team returning to the Cirencester & District League in 2006-7, it would be 2010-11 before Down Ampney were running two sides in the same league again. It was to be a good season for the club as, whilst the first team were taking the Division 2 title, the Reserves were finishing runners-up in Division 3. Whilst the first team maintained the upward momentum the following season it was not be such a happy position for the Reserves as they ended Season 2011-12 second from bottom in Division 2 and it was a similar story the following season. With the first team also getting relegated to Division 2 just one side was entered in the Cirencester & District for Season 2013-14.
