Club History
Odd Down Football Club was founded in 1901, initially playing in the Bath and District Football League. The club spent their formative years on pitches at Stirtingate Farm and at the Quarr Ground, before moving to Combe Hill Lane in the 1930s. The club was finally able to purchase the ground in 1952 and it was re-named in memory of long-serving former President Lew Hill, who did much to secure the site for Odd Down.

The facilities at the ground were developed over time including the building of dressing rooms with a social club being opened in the 1970’s. The development of the facilities allowed Odd Down to gain admittance to the Western Football League for the start of the 1977–78 season. They remained in Division One of the Western League for 16 seasons with a fourth-place finish in Seasons 1982-83 and 1991-92 their best finishes until Season 1992-3.  Season 1991-92 had also seen them win their first major honour, as they lifted the Somerset Senior Cup. However, it was to be Season 1992-93 that that brought the first league title success for the club as they won the Division One Western League title, losing just three of their 40 league fixtures to secure promotion to the Premier Division of the Western League.

They were to spend 15 seasons in the Premier Division with ninth place finishes in 2002-3 and 2003-4 their best finishes in this period. During this period, they did have some good cup runs. In their centenary year of 2001 Odd Down reached the final of the Somerset Premier Cup for the first time, losing 1–0 to Southern League side Clevedon Town. The feat was repeated in 2004, this time going down 5–0 to Yeovil Town at the club’s Huish Park home. Their run in the Premier Division was ended in Season 2007-8 when they were relegated back to Division One of the Western League.

Odd Down were to remain back in Division One for two seasons, they returned to the Premier Division after finishing as runners-up to Wells City in Season 2009-10. This time round they were much more successful in the Premier Division and after five seasons which had seen them finish in the top half of the table they were crowned Premier Division Champions and for the first time in Season 2015-16, finishing three points clear of Barnstable Town. Unfortunately, after that title success Odd Down’s First team has been on a bit of a downward trajectory but remains in the Premier Division.

Odd Down had a Reserves side playing in Senior Football at the time the Wiltshire County League was established in 1976-77. The Reserve side was playing in the Somerset Senior League and was in Division Two in Season 1976-77. A third place finish the following season saw them promoted to Division One where they would remain for two seasons before being relegated back to Division Two. They were to spend just two seasons back in Division Two a successful 1981-82 campaign seeing them promoted back to Division Two.

Odd Down Reserves struggled once again back in Division One of the Somerset Senior League and after two consecutive seasons of finishing bottom of the table were relegated back to Division Two ahead of Season 1985-86.
Odd Down Reserves were to spend three seasons back in Division Two. Their first season back saw them finish in fourteenth place but an improvement the following season saw a top six finish. That improvement continued the following season and a third-place finish in Season 1987-88 saw them promoted back to Division One.

Their first two seasons back in Division One saw them on an upward trend as an eleventh-place finish in 1988-89 was followed by a seventh-place finish in 1989-90. However, the upward trajectory did not continue the following season and the side were relegated back to Division Two of the Somerset Senior League at the end of Season 1990-91after they finished second from bottom.  Once again their stay in the lower division was short lived as they were promoted back again three seasons later as they took the Division Two title, losing just two league games all season. Season 1994-95 was their first season back in Division One and they achieved their highest position to that point, with a sixth-place finish. Five seasons of gradual decline as Odd Down Reserves relegated back down to Division Two for the first season of the new century.

Again, it was to be just three seasons back in Division Two, as they took the Division Two title for the second time in Season 2002-3. Odd Down Reserves remained in Division One of the Somerset County League (the league having now changed its name) for the next five seasons but a second place finish in Season 2007-8 saw them promoted to the Premier Division of the Somerset County League for the first time. They were to find the step-up to the Premier tough going and were relegated back to Division One after just one season after finishing bottom of the table.

After relegation they adapted well to life back in Division One and a fifth-place finish in Season 2009-10 was bettered the following season as they achieved a third place finish which was enough to get them promoted back to the Premier Division. Initially they again struggled in the Premier Division, finishing second from bottom in Season 2011-12 but escaped relegation. However, the next six seasons were much better as Odd Down Reserves achieved a mid-table to top half finish in four of those six seasons, with a fifth-place finish in Season 2015-16 their highest finish in Senior football.

Season 2018-19, however, was to be a season of struggle as Odd Down Reserves won just one of their league games to finish bottom of the table. Odd Down Reserves started a new venture in the Wiltshire Senior League in Season 2020-21 following the season that never was in Season 2019-20 and were in a respectable sixth position at the time the season was brought to a premature end. Season 2021-22 was to be the first full season in the Wiltshire Senior League and the young Odd Down side finished in 11th place, but just six points off a top five finish.

Odd Down's 2022-23 Season was to be overshadowed by the sad passing of manager Mark Brown during the season.  Odd Down were to struggle at the wrong end of the table for much of the season and woul donly secure their Premiership status for Season 2023-24 with a narrow 1-0 win over Wroughton in the final game of the season. The win for Odd Down seeing them climb above Marlborough Town and out of the bottom two.
