Ladies League Cup First Round

Sunday was scheduled to be the First Round of the Ladies League Cup with seven ties scheduled but in the end just one game was played with one game also being awarded due to Barford Hornets being unable to raise a side for their away tie at Marlborough Town Reserves. The heavy rain of the weekend saw five of the scheduled ties postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

It would prove to be a good afternoon for the Marlborough club as their first team joined the reserves in the last eight of the cup competition thanks to a 2-0 away win over Calne Town in the all-Premier Division tie at Beversbrook. Both Kitty Bevan and Elyssia O'Keeffe came off the substitute bench to score the goals that saw Marlborough safely through to the next round. Alan and Barbara Swan were at the game and more of their pictures can be seen on the League Facebook Group Page.

All the postponed cup games have now been rearranged with one scheduled for next Sunday and with the remaining four ties set to take place in the New Year.
